Holík, Lukáš ; Klimecký, Martin (referee) ; Gerö, Jiří (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to create a low-energy / passive building located on the suburbs of the city Brno and which would serve for permanent housing. The land on which the building is to be located is currently mostly green. The ratio of the green area did not change from a bird's eye view, it only moved to other height levels. The majority of the proposed area is therefore greenery, in the form of green roofs. The resulting design consists of two two-storey buildings, which are separated by a green roof of garages located below ground level. However, it is one complex building, in which there are a total of 8 independent housing units of various sizes with gardens and terraces. The southern sides of the facades of both buildings form mainly glazed areas facing the gardens of the individual housing units. At the same time, large glass areas use as much southern light as possible, as both eastern and western in the design cannot be sufficiently used. This bachelor's thesis is based on the subject of studio work from the second year.

Lamačková, Zuzana ; Poláš, Michal (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis was to propose a solution of microurbanism in the urban part of Brno-north, which is situated close to the center of Brno. The solved area is defined by the streets Milady Horákové, Francouzská and Černopolní and it is an undefined urban block with prevailing function of housing and other functional areas, for which the development of this otherwise attractive territory is considerably limited. The aim of the thesis is to suggest improvement of land use, which is currently defined as urban greenery, but maintenance is not carried out on it and its character evokes negative emotions of passers-by and inhabitants. This site has the potential to use for housing in terms of urban structure and could benefit from close proximity to the center, good pedestrian access from Moravian Square, and amenities nearby. The function of commercial premises and housing units would be to bring the site to life.
Garden city
Haasová, Lenka ; Zezula, Adam (referee) ; Toman, Radek (advisor)
Housing cannot be simplified to its sole function of living. It must be extended to the relationship to its place and environment. What is the relationship of a person (inhabitant) to the space of his living? How to live? How to live differently? What is housing today and what can be predicted of its development? How can we, the architects, seek a solution to this seemingly banal housing problem in the current context? In the new territory of the South Center of Brno, in connection with the new railway station, large areas have been freed up, which make it possible to organize the urban structure of the new stop. The garden city is one of its designed parts. The new housing environment is offered in the expansion of the city center in the scale of the city district. Living in a garden city is not only a link to natural elements but also an opportunity to restore direct relations to the place of work and to the place of living and other forms of urban living. The work is based on an urban study prepared by the association Ivan Koleček - Pavel Jura architects Lausanne - Brno.

Guzdek, Adam ; Rudiš, Viktor (referee) ; Glosová, Dagmar (referee) ; Urbášková, Hana (referee) ; Poslušná, Iva (advisor)
Brno Lesna is ranked among the most highly regarded housing estates in Czechoslovakia ever since it was built in the 1960s. Mainly due to its ideal location at southern slopes around natural ravine and timeless urban design. This settlement at the time also constituted the most perfect realization of the current method of construction in our country. It was fully functional and completely finished even before first residents moved in. However, cultivated expression of housing architecture was recently severely affected by inappropriate revitalization. Change of ownership after the events of November 1989 also opened the way for development companies desiring to open spaces to build new apartment buildings. Original inhabitants, though, fight against it and seek for protection of whole settlement as heritage.

Murárová, Lucia ; Svoboda, Lukáš (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The subject of the Diploma thesis is an urban study in the area of the former part of Tepna in Náchod. The Tepna area is largely after demolition and is currently dilapidating. This area has the potential for development and use, located within a short walking distance from the historic city center and at the same time from the residential area in the northern part of Náchod. Above the solved area is the castle, which is a dominant and a city landmark. The aim of the proposal was to use the potential of the territory at most, but at the same time to approach the surrounding landscape sensitively and to connect the urban character of the surrounding urban structure of the city and, conversely, the existing buildings of unclosed blocks are supplemented by new development.
