Leisure and Integration Centre in Hranice
Dobešová, Veronika ; Staňková, Eva (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The basic starting point of the project is to understand needs of mentally disabled people and an evaluation of a badly usable floodplain. The draft proposes creation of an activity park, an exemplary garden and a leisure- and integration centre object. The centre generates an important point on the route from the city centre to the neighbouring spa town and connects two significant areas in the town, which associate various cultural and sports facilities. The design of flood-protection works was evolving from a version with a partial increase of the terrain and placement of a flood-protection dyke up to the nature-close arrangements in a terrain-dyke form, which doesn´t inhibit natural processes of the Bečva river and maintains an active flood zone in an almost unchanged shape. The building program was formulated in two versions. A creative café connected with a gastro-workshop is fundamental in the both versions. In the building program A a horticulture is emphasised, the building program B is more aimed at a creative-workshops. The concept of the building is constructed on the terse principal of harmony between individual boxes with clearly defined functions and free, connecting space. An easy orientation and a free, for everybody open space is the base of the building. The garden- and park-arrangements in the studied area were chosen in the way to fully support the character of the planned leisure-centre. The draft is composed by geometrically alternating areas with different functions, which are connected by a promenade going along the dyke-crown.
Hydraulic assessment of a stream revitalization effect on a floodplain retention capacity
Berka, Ondřej ; Havlíček, Tomáš (referee) ; Dráb, Aleš (advisor)
Diploma thesis “Hydraulic Assessment of a Stream Revitalization Effect on a Floodplain Retention Capacity“ assess availability of revitalized stream and its floodplain to transform floods and compare determined values with transformed floods from model of technically modified stream, both by using coupling 1D/2D BASEMENT computational model. In the first part is overall introduction to research issue. In the second part the territory of interest is described and the hypothesis are set. In the third part are described input data, used tools, computational model, its making and computational versions. In the fourth part the hypothesis are evaluated. It was determined, that for in this thesis used terrain and hydrographs are floods smaller than Q20 transformed much more by revitalized stream and that technically modified stream can speed up the flood, floods Q50 and Q100 are more transformed by technically modified stream. For generalization of the results would be appropriate to make research on bigger ammount of case studies based on combination of 1D/2D and rainfall-runoff model.

Determination of floodplain in Kyjovka river at km 71 to km 74
Kašpar, Tomáš ; Roušar,, Ladislav (referee) ; Zachoval, Zbyněk (advisor)
The diploma thesis discusses the current status of watercourse Kyjovka and a proposal for appropriate protection measures of the territory. The selected section starts at river-km 71,338 and ends at river-km 74,443. The selected part of the watercourse runs through the town of Koryčany. This thesis examines the selected section of Kyjovka split into two subsections. That allows for detailed presentation of several proposed appropriate measures to be applied at critical spots in the selected subsections. The calculation of the watercourse model and its capacity with the water level progresses for selected N(y.o.) flow rates were processed in HEC-RAS5.0.1. program. Proposed flood protection measures are incorporated in the drawings.
Comparison of proposed measures in Brantice–Kostelec section of river Opava
Korálová, Nikola ; Švancara, Jiří (referee) ; Zachoval, Zbyněk (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with comparison of flow influenced by proposed measures with current status in Brantice-Kostelec section of the river Opava. The results of two-dimensional numerical model of steady uniform flow were used to assess the flow. The models were created using SMS – FESWMS for both of conditions. Thesis contains description of current status, design status, the theory of numerical modelling, comparison of the flow and evaluation of results.
Population awareness of the emergence of a special flood under the Kamýk waterworks
HERMOVÁ, Barbora
Everyday we are threatened by small or large emergencies in our lives. It follows, that it would be good to know important and recommended behaviours in crisis situations and to be properly prepared for these emergencies. The aim of this Bachelor´s thesis is to review and evaluate the awareness of the population of Kamýk about tasks during a special flood. The theoretical part is based on legal standards, professional literature and internet resources. The theoretical part itself is focused on flood protection, floodplains and related flood plans. Other major covered areas are flood forecasting and reporting service and flood authorities. I also briefly mentioned dams in the Czech Republic, their historical development and their characteristics. The last segment of the theoretical part are examples of special floods in our country and in the world. The practical part is based on a questionnaire survey. I created a questionnaire, which was then presented to students of primary school in Kamýk and other residents moving in the areas of Kamýk. To answer the research question "Is the population informed about the tasks of protection of the population in the event of special flood?" was carried out a questionnaire survey, which took place in contact form using a printed questionnaire. The questionnaire contained 16 questions and was answered by a total of 82 respondents. This research revealed that the awareness of the population in the mentioned area is insufficient. It is therefore necessary to focus on improving awareness of this issue.
Flora and vegetation in the the Jedlový potok floodplain (Šumava National Park)
HORKÁ, Eliška
The Jedlový potok is a left-bank tributary of The Teplá Vltava river, in the district of Prachatice, which is a part of The Hornovltavský luh in The Šumava National Park. In 2015, the project was approved and revitalization of the creek's part was done. The objective of the Bachelor Thesis was to document the flora and vegetation on predetermined areas of permanent crops located in proximity to The Jedlový potok five years after doing a hydrological revitalization. Four types of biotopes were identified here. Two of the biotopes are of a peat nature and balanced water level, located further away from the creek. Two more biotopes have a fluctuating water regime and are located in close proximity to the creek. It is a wet meadow full of cirsium and carex plants. Measurement of the water level was done in case of every habitat. 63 plant species were traced here. The data of this Bachelor Thesis, together with other data gathered after the revitalization, are useful for monitoring whether the development of the plant community is heading in the right direction.
Analýza střetů využívání údolní nivy malých vodních toků v urbánním prostředí
SCHWARZOVÁ, Šárka
This bachelor thesis sums up an overview of the current findings regarding floodplains and their usage. The pilot study focuses on the delimitation of floodplains of the right tributaries of the Vltava river on the territory of České Budějovice, alongside with the monitoring of the hydromorfological indicators of ecological guality of the Vrátecký stream. The thesis gives a description of the encounters between the functions and the current state of the floodplains' utilization. The thesis also contains a project proposal for terrain monitoring of the remaining tributaries of the Vltava river - the Dobrovodský stream, the Rudolfovský stream and the Hodějovický stream.
Botanical survey of the Jedlový potok stream (Šumava National Park) three years after a hydrological restoration
ČERMÁKOVÁ, Monika
The Jedlový potok is situated in the Šumava National Park and it is a part of the Hornovltavský luh wetland komplex. In the 1950s, due to peat extraction, the stream was regulated and it drained the surrounding area including its floodplain. After a project creation and approval, part of the stream bed was restored, in 2015. Since then four ambient habitats have been monitored annually. Two permanent plots were set on each of them. The aim of the thesis was to record flora and vegetation on these plots in the fourth year after its restoration. Two types of habitats are located in a close vicinity of the stream bed. These are species-rich wet Cirsium meadow and dense vegetation of Phalaris arundinacea marsh with a dominant species Phalaris arundinacea. The other two habitats have a peaty character and they are located out of the riparian zone, further away from the stream. These are short-sedge fen and species-poor Eriophorum vaginatum mire. The used methods included fytocenologic relevés and also groundwater level measurement. In the whole area a total of 83 plant species were identified. The data of this thesis, also with other acquired data from the Jedlový potok area, are useful for further tracking of the vegetation development and also aids to find out if the restoration helped to recover the hydrologic connection between the stream and its surroundings.
