Monochromator
Křivák, Jiří ; Dobesch, Aleš (referee) ; Barcík, Peter (advisor)
This work is focused on analyzing the working principle of monochromator and specifically on HRS-2 Jobin Yvon monochromator with Czerny-Turner optical system. Next, there is described working principle of a diffraction grating, its properties, and design of individual optical system. The suitable wide-spectrum optical source is specified.
Design of compact spectrograph with shiftable spectral range based on transmission gratings
Malina, Jan ; Pořízka, Pavel (referee) ; Novotný, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design a compact spectrometer with a transmission grating and a shiftable spectral range for the method of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). The work in the theoretical part contains a basic description of spectroscopy and spectroscopic methods of LIBS, spectrometer and its individual parts. The practical part describes the spectrometer design procedure, introduces selected components and comments on the reason for their selection. Selected components are assembled into the final form of a spectrometer, which is further tested with the help of a simulation program to confirm its functionality. The result of the work is a comprehensive overview of the individual components of the spectrometer, aspects of its construction together with instructions and advice on its assembly, along with an example in the form of a designed set of commonly available catalog components.
Fiber optic spectrometer
Krausová, Petra ; Münster, Petr (referee) ; Urban, František (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is familiar with the problem of optical spectroscopy. The thesis describes the optical dispersion elements and spectral instruments. A separate chapter is devoted to Fourier spectroscopy, which in turn is based on a new technology SWIFTS described in the next chapter, in which the SWIFTS spectrometers compared with currently used spectral analyzers. The thesis then designs and evaluates experimental measuring which analyzes the detection of longitudinal distribution of radiation intensity in the optical fiber.
Optical spectrometer designing
Dohnal, Marek ; Křivák, Petr (referee) ; Hudcová, Lucie (advisor)
This project focuses the problems of projection and design of optical instruments being instrumental to determination of elements in various material compounds. There are described here the structures of fundamental optical instruments and their possible variants, one of which has been chosen and further entered into details. The work specifically refers to an optical spectrometer, which by its nature, ranges the bands both of visible and near-infrared radiation. The work presents basic principles of particular parts, which the existent instrument can consist of, the advantages and disadvantages brought by the single parts. For specifically proposed configuration, intentionally set in such a way it uses state-of-the art measurement methods obtaining the best possible measurement results, the work analyzes in details the method of operation and solves numerically the theoretical assumptions for correct operation of the spectrometer. A constituent of the project is an experimental measurement testifying, with certain errors, to the theoretical solutions. The measurement errors that could result from chosen arrangement and chosen measurement method are numerically expressed in a separate sub-chapter. Further various calibration methods are mentioned, based on which the calibration method used during the experimental measurement was selected. The last part of project is focused on circumferential design of the optical spectrometer, where series of suitable circumferential elements was scrutinized. For basic elements there are presented their parameters and possible troubles related to the implementation. Furthermore the realisation of project was carried out and the spectrometer was assembled with the parts available in laboratory. The results were elaborated with a computer programme created specially for this application and then compared to a professional spectrometer.
Binary phase masks fabrication using the method of e-beam lithography and reactive ion etching for optical fiber sensors manufacturing
Krátký, Stanislav ; Kolařík, Vladimír ; Mikel, Břetislav ; Helán, R. ; Urban, F.
This contribution deals with the fabrication of binary phase masks using the method of e-beam lithography and reactive ion etching for the manufacturing of optical fiber sensors. The research was focused on the adjusting of gratings depth because of suppression of various undesirable diffraction orders for set grating pitch and its duty cycle. Theoretical simulations were compared with measurement of fabricated gratings.

Structural Colors of Self-Similar Nano Patterns
Meluzín, Petr ; Horáček, Miroslav ; Krátký, Stanislav ; Kolařík, Vladimír
E-beam lithography is a flexible technology for various diffraction gratings origination. The e-beam patterning typically allows for the creation of optical diffraction gratings in the first diffraction order. However, the very high resolution enables also the patterning of structures providing the zero-order diffraction. Recently, we presented a work on the structural colors of metallic layers covering both regular-line structures and CGH (computer generated hologram) structures. This work presents a study dealing with zero-order diffraction structures with self-similar properties. The practical part of the work is focused on two aspects: design parameters and technological issues. Variations in design parameters include the tone of the structure (positive or negative),\nthe density of filling, the filling factor, and the depth of the structures. The achieved gamut of colors may by primarily extended by the proper selection of metal deposition technology and its parameters, and further by the proper selection of the metal and the thickness of its layer, these are the technological issues.
