The influence of the economic cycle on the creation of bid prices in construction

The bachelor thesis analyzes the influence of the economic cycle on the creation of bid prices in construction. The theoretical part defines the economic cycle, supply and demand, prices, budget and tenders for construction companies. The practical part analyzes the approach of individual subjects to the creation of offer prices by means of a questionnaire survey and guided interviews with individual consultants. Finally, the findings are summarized and recommendations are made.
Some specifics of communication in the construction company

The objective of the bachelor´s thesis, whose title is ‘SOME SPECIFICS OF COMMUNICATION IN THE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, was to do research in construction companies and find out how much the companies utilize available resources for their promotion, that is how the companies present themselves in public. The work is also focused on the companies’ ways of communication not only with the customers but also with their own employees. To refute or confirm my hypothesis, I conducted a questionnaire survey and exploration in 5 different sized construction companies. The result of the work is the conclusion that the construction companies do not use enough all ways possible to communicate with others, as well as internal communication is not a matter of the greatest importance for the companies. Currently, this condition is still sufficient. Nevertheless, the companies should be interested in promotion if they want to succeed in still growing competition.
Risk Assessment and Minimization in OSH in Construction Companies

This diploma thesis focuses on the evaluation and minimization of risks in the area of occupational health and safety (OSH), specifically on risks in the construction industry. The analysis of the current state evaluates the issue of current OSH from the European and national point of view, defines terms and contains basic principles of safe work with construction machines. The main task of this work is to analyze the risk associated with the performed activity on a model example and propose suitable measures for their minimization including financial evaluation.
The Impact of Financial Management of Fixed Assets on the Economy of Construction Companies

This doctoral thesis focuses on the impact of financial management of fixed assets on the economy of construction companies. The goal of financial management is to generate profit and provide financial stability. Financial stability is provided by managing the amount of fixed and current assets, the amount of equity and external capital. Therefore, in order to reach the objective of financial management, it is necessary to comply with the basic financial rules. Within the nationwide analyses of economic indicators for different industries, there are data published on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which relate in general to construction companies in the Czech Republic. For this reason, thesis is focused on given categories of construction companies (small, medium, large), which are defined by turnover, assets and number of employees, with largely focusing on Brno region. The thesis first established the research question incl. main goals, then research was conducted in the field of financial management of fixed assets and the subsequent setting of the research methodology based on the conducted research. The next step was to set up a methodical procedure for determining the impact of financial management of fixed assets on the economic result. The research studied whether categories fulfil all or part of the basic golden financial rules, such as the rule of risk equalization, the balance rule and the pari rule. The research also monitored the structure of assets (the ratio between fixed and current assets, etc. based on elementary methods of financial analysis). Next, the research focused on whether the impact of the financial management of fixed assets on the economic result is the same or different for given categories and established the best method of financing. In the conclusion, the benefit to the science and practice is commented on, a possible continuation of the research is listed here and the methodological procedure is commented here.

Contracts for work in construction

The aim of this bachelor thesis was the evaluation and review of contracts for work in construction on the basis of commercial and civil code and their analysis in practice at a few selected companies. On the basis of these two codes the base of contracts for work in construction was explained. Then concepts of business, limited liability company and joint-stock company were defined in the theoretical part. These subjects were also mentioned in the practical part. The questionnaire was compiled to develop practical part. It was sent to construction companies in South Bohemia.
The role of certified management systems in construction companies

The Main objectives is to identify the primary reasons for the introduction of normative control systems (quality, environment and safety healty at work) in building companies in the Czech Republic. Milestones are then evaluate the benefits of these systems and their explanatory power. Further part of work describes the historical background of the sub-systems of management, legislative and regulatory framework, which is governed by these systems and briefly outlines the theoretical aspects, namely the principals and the management systems. The aim of this work is planting problems of this systems in the broader context and open discussion on the topic explanatory power of certificates of conformity to relevant standards.
