Detection of anthropogenic terrain features in the summit area of the Luční and Studniční hora mountains (Krkonoše) with use of airborne laser scanning data
Krusová, Anna ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Potůčková, Markéta (referee)
The thesis focuses on detection of micrographic features using airborne laser scanning data. The aim of the thesis is to propose a novel method for detecting terrain features and to identify and describe terrain objects corresponding to anthropogenic interventions in the arctic-alpine tundra region in the summit area of the Luční and Studniční hora mountains in the Krkonoše Mountains. Based on existing studies, a new detection method of specific micrographic features was proposed by combining two types of data, i.e. point cloud and its raster representation. Initially, polygon approximations of terrain objects were derived from a digital terrain model, and their spatial delineation was further refined locally using point clouds. The output provides the most complete and accurate polygon delineation of the terrain features to date, considering the available data, the specific characteristics of the area, and in comparison to previously conducted studies. The proposed algorithm has identified hundreds of additional terrain features compared to the reference data. However, this number includes false positive features, which need to be manually eliminated. Key words: airborne laser scanning, micrographic features detection, archaeological prospection, digital terrain model, local relief model, Krkonoše...

Rakovnik 1620 Battlefield (Contribution to the Metal-Detector Prospecting of the Early Modern Battlefields)
Šámal, Zdeněk ; Matoušek, Václav (advisor) ; Vařeka, Pavel (referee)
In 2010 the Museum of T. G. M Rakovník began an archaeological survey on a large scaled area, where from 27th of October till the 5th of November 1620, military clashes between the Estates army and the allied forces of the Roman Emperor with the Catholic League took place, just before the battle on Bílá hora. The research, originally associated with the preparation of regional exhibition, grew over the years into a unique project in the field of post-Medieval military activities archaeology. It has two major pillars. First was the field survey, which also covers air prospection, which identifies remains and also offers a geodetic survey of the debris field fortifications, which the army had built. The second is the use of detector prospecting in connection with the GPS data and its subsequent projection into maps. In the past twenty years, metal detectors became a sensitive problem not only in the Czech archaeology sphere. But they are also a useful and efective tool. Experience from abroad shows that an archaeological research of battlefields can't be done without detector prospecting. So far the detector research of the Rakovník battlefield has lasted four seasons (2010-2014) and its main focus has been on finding and localising the lead bullets for firearms used in The Thirty Year War. It was...
Identification and documentation as a basis for protection of prehistoric and early medieval aboveground monuments
Machová, Barbora ; Šabatová, Klára ; Milo, Peter ; Bíško, Richard ; Tencer, Tomáš
The aim of this methodology is to describe procedures for the identification and documentation of prehistoric aboveground structures that can increase the possibilities of detecting these monuments (identification) and thereby increase the probability of their preservation (protection), and to simultaneously capture the current state monuments (documentation). For identification and documentation presents both traditional and modern methods and especially seeks to show the possibilities of combining these methods and selection of appropriate treatment for a particular kind of monument. Based on current practices and analysis of the state is proposing steps that can lead to improved protection of monuments from the state of conservation, but also non-governmental conservation, including forest and field administrators and the general public.

Architectural, historical and archeological survey of the buildings, technical equipment, and works of art in historical gardens and parks
Představuje podrobný návod (včetně vzorů) na realizaci průzkumů stavebních, uměleckých a technických objektů v památkách zahradního umění, všech druhů a stupňů.

This thesis deals with the subject of archeology and it's role in exploration work in buildings of historical significance, focusing on garden objects. The basis is the knowledge itself archeology devoted to the study of past human societies through testimony and other material non-written sources. Characterizes and describes in detail the methods of archaeological survey , which lead to the findings on which archeology trying to establish their claims . The paper presents the possibility of application of the various methods of archaeological research at the polls in historic buildings garden art and assesses their importance for the restoration of monuments of garden art . To further evaluate the importance of archeology in historical garden buildings are representative samples of works of garden art , whose restoration was used archaeological survey.
