IoT system for gardening
Mlčák, Petr ; Kiac, Martin (referee) ; Caha, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design and creation of a weather station suitable for gardeners. The created device is able to measure temperature, pressure, humidity, amount of precipitation, wind speed and direction, UV index and also temperature and soil moisture at several depths. The weather station is powered by a battery with auxiliary charging from a photovoltaic panel. The thesis is divided into several parts. The theoretical part describes the individual physical principles of measurement of the considered physical quantities. Subsequently, a comparison of available sensors is made and then a final selection is made. The third part deals with the design and implementation of the hardware circuitry including the creation of the PCB. In this section, the holders of each sensor are also designed for printing on a 3D printer, which are then printed. The fourth section deals with software design issues, which is described in more detail. Finally, the whole weather station is assembled, wired and the functionality of all components is verified by sending the measured data to Thingspeak.
Design of wind power plant
Starý, Ondřej ; Dlugoš, Jozef (referee) ; Řehák, Kamil (advisor)
Renewable energy sources are currently a much-discussed issue. One of the possibilities of their use is the production of electricity using wind power plants. This work therefore describes in detail construction of wind turbines. At the same time, there is a brief evaluation of wind power plants, from an energy and economic point of view. Part of the work is also the calculation of the optimization of the gearbox weight and a description of the design of the wind turbine coupling.
Lookout tower in Beskydy mountains
Prokop, Miroslav ; Balázs, Ivan (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the design of load-bearing capacity of the observation tower in Besky-dy. The material used in main column is steel S355. The main column is a circular hollow construc-tion with diameter of 2,2 m. Inside the column is located a double spiral staircase. The upper part of observation tower simulates shape of treetop by rip column. It is made of glue laminated timber GL24h. The tower has four platforms of hexagon shape. The largest platform is 12,2m wide. The height of struction is 37,5 m. Internal forces have been calculated in software RFEM and based that the structural assessment has been made. The thesis is drawn up pursuant to the standards of ČSN EN.
Measurement of the vertical profile of the ground level of the atmosphere using an unmanned platform First results
Novotný, J. ; Bystrický, R. ; Dejinal, K. ; Trusina, Jan ; Komínková, Kateřina
Application of new technologies such as unmanned platforms is also on the rise in meteorology. The paper brings the first comparison of measurement sensors placed on the drone with standard meteorological measure-ments on the mast. The mast data provides continuous data over time, but not in space and only in five defined heights. The first results show a good match between mast measurements and measurements using a flying dron in wind direction and wind speed. Additional influences specific to the newly designed measurement method is the main problem, which must be solved.
The Project Proposal for Construction of Wind Turbines
Horák, Filip ; Ondráček, Pavel (referee) ; Doskočil, Radek (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with a project proposal for construction of wind turbines. The first part is consisted of definitions of some basic terms of project management and also of description of methods, techniques and tools of project management, which represents theoretical backround for two following parts of the thesis. There is analyzed wind energy in Czech Republic and the company and its environment and gradually produced a plan of project as requested by a certain company. for supporting their decision-making process. The results of this thesis help other investors or public to understand the process of wind turbines construction.
Variations of solar wind parameters through solar cycle
Turčičová, Marie ; Šafránková, Jana (advisor) ; Ďurovcová, Tereza (referee)
Statistical analysis of data from satellites that operate in the vicinity of the Sun can partly contribute to the elucidation of complex processes around the Sun. This thesis is devoted to a long-term statistical study of particular parameters of the solar wind. We have used data from the Wind satellite, especially its measurements of the velocity, density and temperature of protons and α- particles. By using standard statistical tools, we explored their behaviour during the 23th and 24th solar cycles, including a comparison of both cycles. Our results are in accordance with other known studies.
Fast solar wind helium abundance variations and their relations to solar processes
Ďurovcová, Tereza ; Šafránková, Jana (advisor) ; Vandas, Marek (referee)
Helium can significantly influence solar wind dynamics. The changes of its relative abundance are usually associated with crossings of the boundaries between adjacent flux tubes. However, the recent studies of the data from the BMSW instrument onboard the Spektr-R spacecraft show that the relative helium abundance could vary also inside the flux tubes. The differential motion of proton and helium solar wind components was suggested as a source of turbulence inside the flux tube. The thesis is devoted to the long-term statistical study of the fast helium abundance variations with respect to parameters of the solar wind and changes of its source region. For this purpose, the plasma data from the instruments onboard the Wind and the Spektr-R spacecraft and magnetic field measurements from Wind were used. Simultaneous changes of the relative helium abundance and solar wind parameters were investigated in the long-term Wind observations as well as in the observations prior to and behind interplanetary shocks. Finally, the study of differences between proton and helium velocities during solar minima and solar maxima was conducted.
Use of meteorology and historical comparisons atmospheric conditions for yachting and water sports
Hájek, Petr ; Jindra, Matouš (advisor) ; Dvorský, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Use of meteorology and historicalcomparisons atmospheric conditions for yachting and water. Objectives: At work I use two basic methods of research. The method of content analysis and interview. Content analysis, I get the information for the theoretical part of the work, using professional sailing and meteorological publications. Furthermore, the method of non-standardized interview, which I took while visiting Mathematics - Physics Faculty at Charles University, Department of Meteorology and Climatology. Here I have discussed his work with Dr.. Joseph Brechler, PhD. Furthermore, with top windsurfing in the Black foothills and Nechranické dam. Methods: At work I used as a basic research methods method of content analysis and interview. Content analysis, I gained information for the theoretical part, the professional sailing and meteorological publications that deal with the issue. Non-standardized interview method I used when visiting Mathematics - Physics Faculty at Charles University, Department of Meteorology and Climatology. Here I discuss my work with Dr.. Joseph Brechler, PhD., Then Ing. Ružbatský in the foothills of the Black and F.Kasík of Nechranice. For wider acquaintance with the issues I was trying to get other sources of information on various internet portals related to...

Wind data analysis
Hanslian, David ; Kalvová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Huth, Radan (referee) ; Květoň, Vít (referee)
The doctoral thesis presents various methods of wind data analysis. Its first part summarizes the undesirable factors that influence the measured wind data. In particular, the effects of anemometer placement with regard to the near-by obstacles are investigated. In addition to the theoretical review, the practical examples of analysis of these effects at the wind mast measurements are demonstrated. The second part is focused on the measure-correlate-predict methods. Two original matrix-type methods are presented. Furthermore, a comparison of accuracy of measure-correlate-predict methods for various types of reference data series, various methods and various configurations of applied methods has been performed. The reanalyzed wind proved to be a suitable source of reference data in most cases. The applicability of surface wind data from meteorological stations depends on the combination of reference and target series, as well as on the homogeneity of involved data. The newly introduced methods proved to be suitable and universal tool for measure-correlate-predict application. The final part of the thesis analyses the wind conditions over the Czech Republic. Besides to the overview of the knowledge of the Czech wind climate, the calculation of the wind map of the Czech Republic is described. The final map was...
