Assessment of soils using pollution indices
Satola, Ondřej ; Pavlovský, Jiří (referee) ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (advisor)
Subject of this diploma thesis is analysis of selected heavy metals in soils which are exposed to long-time cause of contaminants from metallurgical industry in localities Třinec and Ostrava. For assessment of the contamination, indexes for evaluation of soils were chosen. Those indexes are focusing mainly on rate of enrichment of the soils by selected heavy metals and resulting ecological and possibly health risk for human organism. Within every location, 26 samples were extracted, while every sample extract location, were selected to map the level of pollution around metallurgical plants in the most complex way. The analysis of the samples was done by techniques F-AAS and AMA 254 and established metals were mercury, lead, copper, chrome, nickel, manganese and zinc.
Compactrio Module For Servomotor Control
Macek, Daniel
The paper deals with the design of a user card for the National Instruments CompactRIO platform. The proposed module allows control of servomotors such as BLDC or PMSM, with the possibility of being connected as a feedback sensor or a mains probe. The article describes the principle of functioning of the module together with the description of selected basic components.

Title: Electronics and adsorption properties of model catalytic systems contains cerium Author: Miloš Cabala Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science, Supervisor: RNDr. Kateřina Veltruská, Department of Surface and Plasma Science, Abstract: The doctoral thesis contains the study of model catalyst systems based on cerium and ceria. The thesis deals with model systems of CeAg, CeO2/Cu(111), Ni- CeO2/Cu(111) a Ni-Sn-CeO2/Cu(111). We have studied these systems using photoelectron spectroscopy, ion scattering spectroscopy and low energy electron diffraction. Model systems were prepared under strictly defined conditions. The strong bimetallic interaction was observed on the CeAg layers. Molecular adsorption of carbon monoxide on CeAg was demonstrated. We also observed intensive reaction of these layers with oxygen. By measurements in different directions of surface Brillouin zone, we managed to reconstruct the band structure of the prepared CeO2/Cu(111) layer. We have shown that the Cu substrate interacts weakly with deposited CeO2 layer. This interaction results in a charge transfer from Cu into CeO2. Overall, in the valence spectrum we have identified three main electron bands corresponding to O 2p state bound in CeO2. It has been proven that the deposition of Ni on CeO2 layers leads to partial...
Model determination of the chemical forms of iron and nickel in the surface waters
Kubínová, Petra
The paper is focused on the evaluation of the possible chemical forms of occurrence of the elements iron and nickel in the surface waters in the experimental catchment Lesní potok (Černokostelecko region). The program PhreeqC (version 2.4.2.) was used for the speciation calculations. There is used the time period from November 2005 to May 2006 as the input data in the evaluation. The redox conditions markedly influence the content of the individual chemical forms of studied elements. Studied elements are present mainly in their mobile (divalent) state during the year. In the extreme case, i.e. during the snow melt, the values of redox potential are considerably higher and the concentration of trivalent state of iron (and nickel) is increasing.
The comparison of geochemical characteristics of Fe, Co, Ni
Kubínová, Petra ; Skřivan, Petr ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Rohovec, Jan
The purpose of this paper is to compare the geochemical characteristics of iron, manganese, nickel and cobalt. In addition, the evaluation of the main fluxes of the selected elements in the model catchment is made.
Epitaxial rectrystalization of the Ni/MgO(001)interface
Vacík, Jiří ; Naramoto, H. ; Yamamoto, S. ; Narumi, K. ; Havránek, Vladimír
Process of recrystallization of the epitaxially grown Ni layer deposited on the MgO(001) single crystal is studied. Thin Ni layer prepared by the vapor deposition of Ni on the MgO substrate kept were annealed between 500 and 1000 0C and systematically analyzed by Rutherford backscattering, X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy. Dramatic change in evolution of the crystalline quality was observed during the thermal treatment. The strain and defect density gradually decreased and at the temperature 1000 0C the strain-free Ni/MgO(001) interface was obtained.
