Audiovisual Works with Reference to Film Co-productions - Summary: The audiovisual works are the main theme of this thesis. I have chosen this theme, because these works are very important for our society and we can not ignore them. We have to consider this segment of our society from various and different perspectives. I mean the various branches of law, film theory, history, financing (economics). It is multidisciplinary area and it contains cultural, social, economical, educational and also international points, which help us to improve and simplify international and multicultural structures and relationships. The thesis is divided into six chapters. Chapter One is introductory and provides basic identification with the topic of the thesis. Chapter Two focuses on general definition of the words "audiovisual work". We have to define this type of work in legal terms and also in the other "interdisciplinary" terms. Chapter Three recalls the fact that this issue must be seen from the historical point of view. We have to study historical copyright law, publications from 30s and 40s of the twentieth century dealing with film law and also law journals from this time period (e.g. "Soutěž a tvorba"). Current issues of audiovisual works with reference to film co-productions including issues of their financing Abstract: This rigorous thesis focuses on audiovisual works, which are an essential part of our society. This is a multidisciplinary area affecting many spheres of our lives. This economic, social and cultural sector has to be looked at from several perspectives. Creation of the audiovisual works and production of the first fixation of the audiovisual works can be looked at for example in terms of law, history, film studies, financing. The international element often presented in the process of the creation of the audiovisual works contributes to the development of not only multicultural but mostly interstate relationships. The rigorous thesis provides a definition of the phrase "audiovisual work" that needs to be understood from an "interdisciplinary" perspective. The next chapter of the thesis deals with the history of the analysed topic. The area of the film industry and film-making is depicted through the copyright law journals and publications dealing with audiovisual (film) works from the 30s and 40s of the 20th century. The implementation of rating of the audivisual products by suatibility for age groups in the Czech republic

The diploma thesis "The Implementation of rating of the audio-visual products by suitability for age groups in the Czech Republic" deals with issues of classification of audio- visual products in Czech medial space. At first, text analyses, what the audio-visual media product is, and what are the legal, psychological and economic arguments for its implementation. The history and current status of labelling in the Czech Republic is also described in this part. Included is also a description of the labelling status in other selected countries, namely United States of America and several countries of European Union. Next part of thesis deals with the Dutch labelling system Kijkwijzer, as it was recommended by experts as an example for future implementation of classification system in our country. It's labelling process and categories are described as well as reasons for why this system was chosen. Diploma thesis also describes the effort to implement this system in Czech Republic by the Audio-visual Department at the Ministry of Culture, and tries to find out why it hasn't been implemented yet. Last part is concerned with the representatives of Czech TV companies, mothers, a psychologist and member of Council for radio and television broadcasting and their opinions on existing classification of...

An audiovisual work

T h e s i s o n A u d i o v i s u a l w o r k s - A b s t r a c t The thesis deals with the legal regulation of audiovisual works in the Czech legal order. The thesis analyzes this legislation in detail with regard to the audiovisual experience, and also discusses some of the practical issues arising during the production and use of audiovisual works. In the introduction to the thesis, individual sources of legal regulation of audiovisual works are listed and also the key issues covered by the thesis. The first chapter defines the term of "an audiovisual work" and it also focuses on the development of the legal definition of this term. The second chapter is regarding the author of an audiovisual work; it describes who was considered to be an author of the audiovisual work in the past and who is considered to be an author under the current legislation. The third chapter defines another important term of the legal regulation of audiovisual works, namely so-called "works audiovisually used" (works which are used in the audiovisual work). It is also regarding the authors of works audiovisually used. The term "works audiovisually used" as such is not defined by Czech law and therefore its interpretation results in frequent inconsistencies. This thesis tries to find solution for these interpretation differences....
