Greek-Catholic Parish St. Clemente in Prague - Development and Identity

The master's thesis "The Greek Catholic Parish of St. Clement in Prague - Development and Identity" presents the history of Greek Catholic Church in relationship to the history of the church as a whole and to the matters of Eastern and Western Christian traditions up to the reunification of the Latin Church with several Eastern Churches in the form of so-called Unions. The thesis also familiarizes readers with the development and impact of these unions. This also describes the identity and traditions of the Greek Catholic Church, consisting in the tradition of Eastern Christianity fully united in communion with the Catholic Church (chapter 1). Following the general introduction into the matter, the thesis focuses on the circumstances of the parish origin, its development and life in the course of history and in context of the Czech church history in the 20th century. The next milestone described in the thesis is the year 1989 and subsequent changes (chapter 2). Furthermore, the thesis presents the organization of the Greek Catholic Church in the region of contemporary Czech Republic and its development up to the present state (chapter 3). The situation of the Greek Catholic Church in Czechoslovakia after the Communist outset

The bachelor thesis will focus on the situation of Greek Catholic Church in Czechoslovakia after the Communist outset in 1948, when the so-called Action P, which was to destroy the Church, occured. It will primarily concentrate on the period after the onset of communism to power, although the plans to the destruction of the Church were ready before the year 1948, and charting their systematic fulfillment after the Communist outset in 1950, when the "Presov Sobor" met. It will become one of the central themes of this thesis and will be set into the context of the then religion-political situation in Czechoslovakia.
Preconditions for restoring the Greek Catholic Church in Czechoslovakia in the second half of the 20th century

The diploma thesis entitled Prerequisites for the Restoration of the Greek Catholic Church in Czechoslovakia in the second half of the 20th century deals with the fate of this church in the period of communist regime. The main part of the work is devoted to the years 1950-1968, the stage from its abolition to its partial restoration. In this period, factors and key events that contributed to the restoration are sought. Important moments in the history of the Greek Catholic church are interpreted in the historical political-religious context. The conclusion outlined the life and activities of the restored, but limited, Greek Catholic Church in the period of normalization.
