Psychosocial dimensions of quality of life related to people with intelektual disabilities living in shelteredhousing

The dissertation deals with the psychosocial dimension of the quality of life of adults with mental disabilities in sheltered housing. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical framework deals with the quality of life and life satisfaction of adults with mental disabilities in the context of deinstitutionalisation and transformation of social services. The theoretical background is in line with the research focus of the thesis. The search for research papers and professional publications on the quality of life and life satisfaction of people with intellectual disabilities in sheltered housing indicate that there are not many studies dealing with this paradigm in this target group. Although nowadays we are meeting quality-of-life czech literature for individual client groups, it is in most cases an isolated constraint on specific areas, not the broader concept of a given conception. We assume that the decision on the life of the concerned person can not be limited only to understanding their needs based solely on the objectives of the service, organization or program. Spirituality and people with learning disabilities - searching for the meaning of life

The Master thesis here presented opens the theme of spirituality and its role in the lives of people with learning disabilities. Its subtitle "searching for meaning of life" shows that the term spirituality contains a variety of different possibilities which lead to the feeling of fulfilment, satisfaction, joy etc. Feelings which last not only for a moment, but stay present despite the disabilities the everyday life may bring. The community of l'Arche represents one of the places where the life of people with learning disabilities together with people without this type of handicap is possible and where they all can perceive the uniqueness and enrichment of their common life. Moreover, this lived experience very often answers the question for the meaning of life. The aim of this Master thesis is to discover the specificity or "the spirit" of the community of l'Arche, mainly by the words of its members with learning disabilities. For this reason, a participatory research has been chosen as a research method.
Gaining of independence of a person with intellectual disabilities

The main topic of this Master thesis is the process of gaining independence of a person with intellectual disability. This phenomenon is perceived as a lifelong process connected to the planning of future in families with an intellectually disabled member. The thesis is based on qualitative research using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. In the research, three groups of respondents were involved: people with intellectual disability, their parents and people who work with people with intellectual disability and their families. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participants of the research. The studied phenomenon is described in the context of an entire life of an intellectually disabled person and their family. The research has focused on identifying the obstacles obstructing the journey of gaining independence of a person with intellectual disability. The aim of the research was to propose methods for supporting the journey of gaining independence of an intellectually disabled person and their family through complex understanding of this phenomenon. Selected religious categories in imagines of people with intellectual disability

The thesis interprets and analysies the results of the explorational survey, which deals how people with intellectual diabilities reflect on sellected religious terms. The targert of this thesis is to chart the opinions, definitions and attituteds of the people with intellectual disabilities to the sellected religious categories. The theoritical part of the thesis deals not only of problems of spiritual life, meetings, dialogues and interwies with people with intellectual disabilities but solves their specific qualities and their role in the catholic community too. The exploration part presents two researches - with worshippers people with intellectual disabilities and worshippers people without disabilities. In the end of the thesis the explorational survey definates differences beetween both groups. The thesis use the method of the qualititive research, concretely the mothod of the semistructured interview and the method of the group discussion.
Influence of leisure activities on the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities

This thesis deals with leisure activities that have an impact on leisure and quality of life of persons with severe mental disabilities. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of people with intellectual disabilities, their social integration, the concept of quality of life and leisure activities for the full use of their free time. The practical part is devoted to leisure activities that are provided to clients with severe mental disabilities in Liberec DH. In this part the processing of his observations in the context of the research. In conclusion evaluates the fulfillment of the objectives of this thesis.

Education and Perspectives of the Youth and Adults with Intellectual Disabilities in Employment

This thesis "Educational and occupational perspektive of adolescents and adult people with disabilities" outlines the educational system for the people with disabilites, their employment and work placement options. Characteristics of the Waldorf Elementary and High school points out specialities and attitudes of the Waldofr's pedagogy and anthroposophic view towards the people with disabilities with the aim to present its implication on the posibilities of the people with disabilities on the following education and work placement. The outcome of the questionaire placed in Waldorf elementary and high school reflects the assertion of graduates after leaving the school, interviews with teachers of practical traning and the head of the workshop Jinan. The aim of this thesis is to emphasizes the importance of education and work placement for the people with disabilities, necessary in order to cultivate and enrich their lives.
