The role of endometriosis in the development of dyspareunia and algopareunia.
Fiala, Luděk ; Zvěřina, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vevera, Jan (referee) ; Adamík, Zdeněk (referee)
Endometriosis is defined as the presence of endometrial cells outside the uterine cavity. The underlying symptom is pain, endometriosis is often associated with primary or secondary sterility, and it is assumed to be involved in the development of female dyspareunia and algopareunia. There are many theories regarding the cause of the disease, however, none of them affects the complex state of the disease which occurs in the population according to statistics in 10-15 % of women. In women with a diagnosis of sterility and infertility, the incidence of endometriosis is described in more than 40 %. Also, more than 50 % of women describe the most diverse forms of dyspareunia and algopareunia that affect not only women's own lives but also their relationships. The illness thus becomes important not only from a purely medical point of view but also from a psychosocial point of view. It should be noted that there is currently no known specific laboratory marker to diagnose endometriosis. Likewise, there is no unambiguous solution within the therapy, whether it is conservative, surgical, or combined. An important fact is that endometriosis is diagnosed with a considerable delay, according to statistics; it takes up to 11 years from the discovery of the first, often indefinite symptoms, to the unequivocal...

Trojan, Ondřej ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Zvěřina, Jaroslav (referee) ; Pastor, Zlatko (referee)
Charles University Prague, Czech Rep. Raculty of Philosophy Department of Psychology Doctoral Theses Comparison of Accuracy and Precision of Sexodiagnostic Methods of Penile Plethysmography and Viewing Time Ondřej Trojan, 2017 Abstract The diagnosis of pedophilia denotes (according to ICL 10) the erotic preference for prepubescent or early pubescent children. Penile plethysmography (PPG) measures the reaction of these men in respon- se to either visual stimuli or to erotic narrative stories including child objects. Penile plethysmography is quite an intrusive assessment method, so viewing time (VT) might be a good alternative if it is shown to be compapratively accurate. Several studies in the past have shown inconsistent data, therefore more research is needed to confirm its validity in distinguishing responses to the preferred age category of pedophilic men. Method: Participants were 30 self-referred admitting paedophiles aged between 18 and 55 in the experimental group and 30 heterosexual gynephile men in the comparison group. A set of photographs depicting naked adults in addition to male and female children across 6 age categories ranging from young infants to adolescents was used; the same set of 38 stimuli were used to measure PPG (first) and VT(after). PPG apparatus was used to measure penile...
Hierarchy and human behavior. BDSM as an alternative sexual behaviour.
Jozífková, Eva ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Bob, Petr (referee) ; Zvěřina, Jaroslav (referee)
Preferences for sexual arousal by overstated dominance and submission in sex is categorized as F65.5, sadomasochism, according to ICD, but this behaviour is called BDSM among the general public. The ground of these preferences could be ultimately biological. These preferences reflect behavioural strategy which enables to gain higher reproductive success. Men and women who were sexually aroused by a submissive partner had more male relatives than men and women with other preferences. Contrary to the women, the dominant men reported themselves as more attractive. Women who were aroused by a higher-ranking partner considered themselves more attractive. Sons of couples in which was hierarchical disparity had more siblings than sons of "equal" couples or couples with no hierarchical disparity. Daughters of hierarchically disparate couples had more brothers than daughters of "both dominant" partners. Concurrently, number and gender of offspring as well as self- reported attractiveness are likely to be criteria of the reproductive success in humans. It is also interesting that hierarchically disparate couples, without regard to gender of higher-ranking partner, reached higher reproductive success than "equal" couples. Individuals who preferred higher- or lower-ranking partner were also aroused by...

Sexual dysfunction amongst czech women
Hollá, Kateřina ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Zvěřina, Jaroslav (referee) ; Uzel, Radim (referee)
Theoretical part Currently accepted new conceptualization of women's sexual dysfunction is based on the model found in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD). These classifications are extended and combined interpersonal, contextual, personalpsychological and biological factors. Recent DSM- IV definitions have focused on absence of sexual fantasies and sexual desireprior to sexual activity and arousal, even though the frequencyof this type of desire is known to vary greatly among women without sexual complaints. DSM-IV definitions also focus on genital swelling and lubrication, entities known to correlate poorly with subjective sexual arousal and pleasure. The structure of the new classification is based on the four categories of DSM-IV: disorders of desire, arousal, orgasm and pain. However these categories are newly assigned to the subjective dimension of satisfaction, stress and the presence of disorders during other sexual activities besides intercourse. The dimension lifetime vs. acquired, generalized vs. situational were added, as well as the etiology is taking into account. For clinical work it is important that these changes highlight the significance and importance of psychological, situational...
