Recovery of waste from processing of phosphorus to produce materials with increased added value
Hejsek, Michal ; Zavřel, Tomáš (referee) ; Ing.Jan Červený, Ph.D. (advisor)
This master thesis focuses on reuse of waste water from industrial plant processing yellow phosphorus. Theoretical part summarizes physical and chemical properties of phosphorus, its transport in biosphere and its role in living organisms. Also the production process of the industrial plant is described. Waste water that contains waste byproducts is considered to be useful source of essential nutrients for economical large scale microalgae cultivation and development of biotechnological processes. In practical part, optimization of growth conditions for microalgae Chlorella pyrenoidosa Chick (IPPAS C-2) cultivation in medium based on wastewater from yellow phosphorus warehouse is presented.

Zavřel, Tomáš ; Frýbort, David (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The aim of diploma thesis is to design mixture SMA LA 8 with crumb rubber modified bitumen (9,9 %) and a modifier additive TecRoad (22 %) and the test of water sensitivity, the resistance to permanent deformation and to frost cracking, the determination of the stiffness and fatigue characteristics. Test methods are described and evaluated.
The conception of the parish after the Second Vatican Council
Zavrel, Tomas Van ; Opatrný, Aleš (advisor) ; Kuźniar, Mariusz (referee)
The Conception of The Parish After The Second Vatican Council Tomas van Zavrel This thesis deals with the conception of the parish after the second Vatican council. Its aim is to describe chat kind of parish concept emanates from the documents of the last council and how this conception was developer in various church documents thereafter. It puts this conception into a historical context with emphasis on the period after the 19th century. Three views on the parish are presented: pastoral sociological, pastoral dogmatic and pastoral legal. The basic functions of the parish are unfolded from today's perspective and finally several models of parish concepts are presented. Key words: - Pastoral - Parish concepts - Second Vatican Council - History of parishes in Central Europe
Research of microalgal cultivation focusing on CO2 sequestration to evaluate lipid production as a potential product associated with the use of CO2 from flue gases
Sukačová, Kateřina ; Zavřel, Tomáš ; Červený, Jan
The subject of the research report is a summary of the issue of microalgal cultivation aimed at assessing the key conditions necessary for the effective growth of microalgae, with particular reference to the possibilities of using CO2 from the flue-gases in microalgal cultures. An experimental evaluation of the optimal growth conditions for Chlorella pyrenoidosa Chick (IPPAS C2) and the two-phase cultivation of this microalga associated with lipid production is also part of the thesis.

Comparative growth characterization of frequently used substrains of the model cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 under varying culture conditions
Zavřel, Tomáš ; Očenášová, Petra ; Sinětova, M. A. ; Červený, Jan
Cyanobacteria have gained increased attention as ideal candidates for biotechnological applications due to their capacity to produce valuable molecules ranging from therapeutic proteins to biofuels. Their natural phenotypic plasticity in highly dynamic environments enables easy deployment of new biotechnologies as well as opening possibilities for genetic engineering. This contribution presents a new approach to fast and reliable characterization of cyanobacteria growth in a flat panel photobioreactor that enables examination of changing light, temperature, and nutrient availability. The utilization of semi-continuous automatic cultivation with real-time culture growth monitoring provides a strong experimental basis for both characterization and optimization of cyanobacteria cultures in photobioreactors. We first characterized the autotrophic growth of the substrain of Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 denoted as GT-L. This strain is capable of efficient growth under a wide range of environmental conditions with doubling time as fast as 5 h under favorable conditions. However, differences among Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 substrains have been identified on both the genotype and phenotype levels. We therefore aimed to utilize the experimental platform to characterize multiple commonly used Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 substrains. This method will enable us to identify substrains capable of robust growth and high production yields as reliable biotechnological candidates.
