Vydra, Jan ; Svída, David (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This Bachelor’s thesis is concerned with the Powertrain of Grand Prix racing cars before second World War. In this thesis are stripping different conception of the Powertrain, based on interesting or successful racing cars and whole exposition is inserted to the context of the present formula cars.
Project of silo for powdery materials
Vydra, Jan ; Malach, František (referee) ; Malášek, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis is solving systems design of silo for powdery materials. There is analysis of type choise and silo construction, dimension design and silo strenght calculation. There are described the possibility of emptying the vaults and ways to suppress the possible emergence of the vault using aktive and passive elements, that condustive to flow. It also describes active and passive stress state of the material in the silo. There are evaluated various options for editing the silo for different materials.
NKG2D and KIR Receptors and Their Role in Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Machuldová, Alena ; Pitule, Pavel (advisor) ; Mrázek, František (referee) ; Vydra, Jan (referee)
NKG2D and KIR receptors and their role in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in patients with acute myeloid leukemia ABSTRACT NK cells (from Natural Killer) play an important role in the fight against viral infections or cancer. These immune cells are also able to recognize cells without HLA (human leukocyte antigen) proteins and, unlike T cells, can eliminate cells that try to escape immune surveillance by internalizing these molecules. For example, leukaemia stem cells, which are thought to be responsible for leukaemia relapse, are able to do this. The activity of NK cells is controlled by inhibitory and activating receptors. Among the best studied are the KIR (killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptor) receptors, which can be both inhibitory and activating and whose ligands are primarily HLA molecules. The most prominent activating receptor is NKG2D (natural killer group 2-D), whose ligands are the stress-induced proteins MICA and MICB (MHC class I- related chain-A or -B) and ULBP (human cytomegalovirus Unique Long 16-binding protein). In the first part of this study, we aimed to describe whether the Czech population corresponds in allele frequency and polymorphisms of KIR and NKG2D receptors and MICA and MICB ligands to other populations of Caucasian origin. In both cases we observed the...
Physiology and Pathology of unconventional lymphocytes
Zubatá, Ivana ; Novák, Jan (advisor) ; Szotkowski, Tomáš (referee) ; Vydra, Jan (referee)
MAIT cells, mucosal-associated T lymphocytes, are a group of immune cells that have both innate and adaptive immunity abilities. They are defined by the expression of a semi-invariant TCR chain. They exhibit anti-infective potential with cytotoxic effector functions and immunomodulatory capabilities. The primary activation pathway is through the MR1 molecule of the non-classical MHC Ib class which is exerted in defense against bacteria and mycoses. MAIT cells are also able to TCR-independent activation by proinflammatory cytokines. They are involved in cytokine storms mediated by bacterial superantigens and in antiviral defense. They respond rapidly by producing a wide range of inflammatory mediators, including the repertoire of adaptive immunity Th1, Th2 and Th17 lymphocytes. Recent work shows resistance to some xenobiotics. This dissertation presents the results of an investigation of the phenotype of MAIT cell subpopulations measured by flow cytometry. By stimulation with ionomycin and PMA we analyzed their repertoire of cytotoxic abilities. In the main research project the hypothesis of anti-infective potential and resistance of MAIT cells to xenobiotics is applied to clinical practice in the field of haematooncology. The thesis presents evidence for a protective role of MAIT cells during the...
Methodology for breast ultrasound examination
Vydra, J. ; Daneš, J. ; Bartoš, Michal ; Šroubek, Filip ; Petr, L. ; Zitová, Barbara
The aim of the proposed project is the development of a new ultrasonic equipment (US), allowing early detection of breast cancer and reduce the need to use the ionizing radiation during examinations. The aim is to eliminate the disadvantages of current ultrasonic systems in the diagnosis of breast cancer, which hinders its use. The target parameters include prospecting and automated description using parameters (size, texture), description of the situation, which is able to testify about the disease, combining individual images (registration) leading to the creation of 3D display - thus ensuring reproducibility UZ shaping and security testing the entire organ. At the same time the newly developed ultrasonic probe allows better capture the characteristics of bearings including microcalcifications. Software solution enables to follow the coverage of the breast examination. The areas which were omitted are detected and highlighted.
