The aim of the business trip was to attend the International Conference on Grey Literature, the world's largest conference on grey literature, as well as attending an annual meeting of Greynet members, including representatives of NTK. This year the conference was focused more on data and sets of data, that will be dealt with by NTK in the near future. There was also presented NTK activities - the operation of the Institutional Digital Repository and the National Repository of Grey Literature.

Collecting Grey Literature – Institutional Repository versus National Aggregator

The Czech National Library of Technology (NTK) provides two digital repositories – the National Repository of Grey Literature (NRGL) and the NTK Institutional Digital Repository (IDR). NRGL’s primary is providing access to grey literature as well as long-term archiving and preservation of grey literature from various institutions in the Czech Republic. The IDR was created for collecting and archiving of employee-generated content and other documents, including grey literature, connected with the library and its services. Our poster highlights the differences between collecting grey literature at the institutional level (through the institutional repository) and at the national level. What commonalities and differences do they have? What problems do they solve? Differences include not only overall conceptions and document types, but also methods for collecting, legal issues and standards as well as functionality and options. Thanks to our experiences in managing both types of repositories, we define general differences, obstacles, and development possibilities. Information presented here, including a mode for cooperating at the institutional or national level, is useful for all institutions planning to start collecting (not only) grey literature at the institutional or the national level even at cooperating institutional model/level

Foreign Digital Archives of Research and Technical Reports and Perspectives of their Integration

Cílem diplomové práce bylo najít a popsat digitální archivy, knihovny a repozitáře zpřístupňující technické a vědeckovýzkumné zprávy a získat informace o možnostech integrace těchto archivů. První a druhá část diplomové práce obsahuje souhrn teoretických informací jednak o technických a vědeckovýzkumných zprávách, jednak o digitálních knihovnách a archivech. Třetí část je úvodem k hlavní části diplomové práce, jsou zde nastíněny obecné inforamce o zjištěných digitálních archivech a knihovnách zpřístupňujících technické a vědeckovýzkumné zprávy. Jádrem práce je čtvrtá kapitola s analýzami čtyř vybraných systémů: francouzské Knihovny technických a vědeckých zpráv LARA (http://lara.inist.fr), Serveru technických zpráv NASA (http://ntrs.nasa.gov), švýcarského Dokumentového serveru RERO DOC (http://doc.rero.ch) a Kolekcí technických zpráv Caltech spravovaných Kalifornským techmologickým institutem (http://libguides.caltech.edu/content.php?pid=26583&sid=192373). Zvláštní kapitola je věnována možnostem integrace digitálních archivů technickýh a vědeckovýzkumných zpráv společně s konkrétními příklady projektů integrace. Jedná se o evropskou iniciativu DRIVER - Vize infrastruktury pro digitální repozitáře pro evropský výzkum (Digital Repository Infrastructure Vision for European Research)...
