Physiotherapy in the pediatric rheumatology
Benáková, Lucie ; Vondřejcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Gerlichová, Markéta (referee)
Name: Lucie Benáková Name of bachelor thesis: Physiotherapy in the pediatric rheumatology Juvenile dermatomyositis Abstract: Juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) is an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy which manifests mainly on the skin of the face. Another major symptom is muscle weakness which primarily affects the muscles of shoulder and pelvic girdle. Children have problems with movement and breathing. It can lead to permanent imobility. This disease occurs rarely. Comprehensive rehabilitation isn't described in Czech literature. In my bachelor thesis I compared the Czech and foreign resources which refer to the rehabilitation of childrens with JDM. I describe methods of testing and possibilities of physiotherapy in various problems associated with this disease. Key words: Juvenile dermatomyositis, muscle weakness, physical therapy, Manual Muscle Testing, Childhood Myositis Assessment Scale, pain, respiratory weakness
Gait analysis : comparison and selection of test and examinational methods
Vobrubová, Dita ; Pitrmanová, Věra (advisor) ; Vondřejcová, Kateřina (referee)
This thesis focuses on gait examination of hemiparetic patients. The first part addresses general pieces of knowledge about gait, examination options, application of examinational gait tests in the physical therapy, and description of hemiparesis. The second part is summary of my practical experience with gait examinations of hemiparetic patients. The goal of this thesis is to try and evaluate options of tests and gait examinational methods: The Rancho Los Amigos Observational Gait Analysis System The Tinetti Balance and Gait Evaluation The Rivermead Visual Gait Assessment The benefits and drawbacks of each test are also evaluated. It is described how the test informs about gait disorder, its use in practice, the difficulty of realization for both patient and examiner, the method of test evaluation.
Balance and the motor skills training through biofeetback
Roubková, Leona ; Janatová, Markéta (advisor) ; Vondřejcová, Kateřina (referee)
7 Name: Leona Roubková Supervizor: MUDr. Markéta Janatová Opponent: Title of the bachelor thesis: Balance and motor skills training through biofeedback. The Synapsys Posturography System and Nintendo Wii utilization in therapy of patients after brain injury. ABSTRACT The main theme of this thesis is the use of modern gaming console, the Nintendo Wii in therapy of patients after a brain injury. The work focuses mainly on training of postural stability platform with the Wii FitBalance Board. The author objectifies the results of therapy using posturography with the new equipment Synapsys Posturography System. The theoretical part describes the postural motor, its management, ontogenesis, but also its failure and the most common causes of these disorders. The author pays particular attention to the work mechanisms of injury and damage to the brain, which has a direct impact on the perception of body position and movement. A separate chapter summarizes the general knowledge about stroke and its effects and explains main problems of instrumentation in physiotherapy. The practical implementation includes the description of the therapy with the Nintendo game console, including the input and output examination through the new device Synapsys Posturography System. The main task in this section was an attempt to...
Physiotherapy in childrens rheumatology, physiotherapy at chronic pain syndrome in children
Paroubková, Martina ; Vondřejcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Chalupská, Tereza (referee)
For chronic musculoskeletal pain syndromes (CPS) is typical longterm persistent pain without an identifiable morphological cause. These CPS affect mostly older children and females. We recognise two different forms of CPS, diffuse, represented by fibromyalgia and, localised, which is represented by complex regional pain syndrome type 1. This work is primarily focused on juvenile primary fibromyalgia syndrome (JPFS), which is characterised by widespread pain and numerous painful tender points upon palpation. Very often other symptoms such as sleep disturbance, fatigue, headaches, irritable bowel syndromes and anxiety are presented. To succesful treat JPFS the multidisciplinary approach is necessary. This work describes posibilities of physiotherapy in JPFS as a key to succes of interdisciplinary teamwork. Key words: chronic pain, fibromyalgia, multidisciplinary therapy, pain management, children
Physiotherapy in patients with hypermobility
Pinkavová, Monika ; Vondřejcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Vítová, Eva (referee)
Title of thesis: Physiotherapy in patients with hypermobility Abstract: This work addresses problems with a joint hypermobility. It comprises of two parts. In the first part the definition of the hypermobility by different authors is reviewed, followed by a description of its forms, examination and focus of the therapy. The goal of the practical part is to perform initial physiotherapeutic examination and several tests focused on hypermobility and stress tests with three probands with the joint hypermobility. Afterwards suitable therapy is designed. It was performed for two months as an individual exercise twice a week and as a group practice twice to three times a week. The group therapy was included in the final stage of the training. After two months the examination was repeated. The results show improved movement control during the performance of the stress tests. The medial knee collapse is less pronounced. Also some of the movement stereotypes improved (e. g., movement stereotype of push ups - reduced head protraction). Key words: hypermobility, hypermobility and sport, case study, physiotherapeutic examination, therapy
