Serge Reggiani, the importance of inconspicuousness
Hrzina, Václav ; VALAK, Radim (advisor) ; Slavíková, Nataša (referee)
I would like to understand the importance of an actor in a movie. I choosed Serge Reggiani, a french actor, who never became a star number one. Reggiani went through a lot of important movies in principal or small roles. What it really means acting in a movie, what brings freedom to an actor in front of a camera and is one actor able to play different characters in every other movie. A diversity and length of his filmography, different directing styles he went through will help me to concretize attitude of an actor and perception of his „different“ characters by audience. I would like to bring up some acting metodes in cinematography in my work too.
The Style of films by David Fincher or From Propaganda Films to digital era
Těšitel, Jan ; VALAK, Radim (advisor) ; BLAŽEVIČ, Jasmina (referee)
This diploma thesis is a follow-up to my bachelor thesis, which studied the works of director David Fincher in the period framed by the existence of a production company Propaganda Films, and also by a common standard of shooting feature films on film stock. The new millennium then brought an end to the production company and also, at least for Fincher, the end of working with film material. Based on the analysis of one significant scene of each film that Fincher made in the "digital era", I will try to describe what film language is used when the scene is narrated, what precedes and what follows, the role of the actors and script, what style brings camera work and editing. And finally what constitutes a stylistic specificity of David Fincher's narrative.

Carlos Reygadas with his only four movies Japón, Battle in heaven, Silent light and Post tenebras lux belongs to group of the most striking and the most controversial directors nowadays. And he is one of the few directors who garantee further development of cinematografy as original artistic field. My topic is not just his monograph. Working with nonactors, non-narrative using of plot and context of the site where film is based..That are three specific folder of film narration which characterize his work and they are close to mine at same time. I want to more precisely identify his formal film techniques which could be named as purely cinematic and could not be easily replaced by another artform.
