Carlos Reygadas patří se svými pouhými čtyřmi filmy Japón, Souboj s nebem, Tiché světlo a Post Tenebras Lux k nejvýraznějším a zároveň nejkontroverznějším tvůrcům současnosti. Je jedním z mála režisérů, kteří jsou navzdory možné krizi kinematografie zárukou jejího dalšího vývoje jako svébytného uměleckého vyjádření. Mým tématem však není pouhá monografie tohoto autora. Práce s nehercem, nenarativní přístup a kontext místa, ve kterém se film odehrává, jsou tři konkrétní složky filmového vyjádření, které charakterizují jeho tvorbu a stejně tak jsou blízké i mým kinematografickým postojům. Chtěl bych se zaměřením na tyto složky přesněji pojmenovat ty postupy, které se dají označit za ryze filmové a není je možné snadno nahradit jinou uměleckou formou. Carlos Reygadas with his only four movies Japón, Battle in heaven, Silent light and Post tenebras lux belongs to group of the most striking and the most controversial directors nowadays. And he is one of the few directors who garantee further development of cinematografy as original artistic field. My topic is not just his monograph. Working with nonactors, non-narrative using of plot and context of the site where film is based..That are three specific folder of film narration which characterize his work and they are close to mine at same time. I want to more precisely identify his formal film techniques which could be named as purely cinematic and could not be easily replaced by another artform.
