Evaluation of the Financial Situation of a Company and Proposals to its Improvement

This bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation of the financial situation of PANAV, a.s. for the period 2015–2019. The first part describes the theoretical basis of financial analysis. These methods are then applied in the second part. The last part contains proposals for solutions that respond to the identified shortcomings in the company and should thus contribute to improving the financial situation of the analyzed company.
An annoted translation of selected chapters of Barry Hughart's novel Bridge of Birds with an introduction to the novel's author, style, and complexities of its translation

The thesis is divided into two parts. The practical part contains the translation of the selected chapters of a fantasy novel Bridge of Birds: A Novel of an Ancient China That Never Was (1984) by an american author Barry Hughart. The introductory theoretical part contextualises Hughart's novel in the fantasy literature and specifically introduces the chinoiserie genre. Furthermore, the study will focus on the translatological analysis of chosen complexities which are mainly connected to the use of Chinese mythology as well as cultural and historical allusions which are reflected mainly in creating names and titles. The complexities of translating poems and humour are also included in the thesis. The Story of Kullervo by J. R. R. Tolkien: translation and stylistic analysis

This bachelor thesis consists of three parts - the introduction, the translation of The Story of Kullervo and stylistic analysis of the translation. The first part focuses on the introduction of the short story and the author's inspiration taken from the Finnish mythology. It also contains notes on the difficulties and errors in the original text, which are important for the better understanding of the story. The practical part consists of the original text and its Czech translation and the third part analyses the process of the translation, supported by the relevant theories.
