Autoportrait of the nonhuman
Trnková, Barbora ; Horáková, Jana (referee) ; Klodová, Lenka (referee) ; Ruller, Tomáš (advisor)
The work conducted through artistic-research methods, spanning across several interconnected projects and their explications, examines the proclaimed overcoming of rationalistic dualities personified in the in the cyborg metaphor. It showcases how mediated digital thinking obstructs the perception of the other, posing a risk to feminist visions inspired by this metaphor. In the spirit of glitch feminism, instances of algorithmic biases are proposed, revealing glitches within normative hegemony mediated by the outcomes of learning algorithms, to be positively perceived as opportunities for their identification and removal. Furthermore, it introduces the category of the non-human other, fabricated through dehumanizing and tabooed violence. In comparison to the nature of the pornographic and the erotic, and in the context of the concept of becoming, a path towards acquiring autonomy of the other is hinted. Alongside the creation of alternatives that disrupt dominant hegemony, a shift in focus towards subtractive strategies is suggested, acknowledging the uprising of the non-human within us, while suspending the transcendental subject in the same move. This addresses the issue of preserving the subject, which interprets the other.
Attraction
Kojetská, Monika ; Trnková, Barbora (referee) ; Kohoutková, Karolína (advisor)
In my thesis the focus is on the attraction with which I work in multiple planes. I focus on the essence of the material and its predictive value. I place emphasis on the significance of the use of specific material and use the category of its surface, superficies, fashion, luxury, kitsch, goodliness, atracction, object and desire. I work with visual, physical and sensual attraction.
Kitsch in the visual arts and the presence kitsch in my work
Olšarová, Markéta ; Korbička, Pavel (referee) ; Trnková, Barbora (advisor)
The work deals with kitsch, which appears in the personal life of the author, her work and in the households of their loved ones. It examines the form of kitsch and its benefits. It compares his condemned emotional skill with its contribution to personal pleasure. It seeks the meaning of kitsch with regard to taste. During the work, short videos on this topic were created and which are incorporated into the final installation.
The Breaking Down of Black, the Technique of Inconsistent Transfer of Light
Trnková, Barbora ; Ruller, Tomáš (referee) ; Klodová, Lenka (advisor)
Im interested in the topic of praying machine, because I want to analyze aspects of photography and its functions. It's known, that the reality is manipulated by photography. Bud we can also say, that the relationship between reality and photography is neutral in fact, that the manipulation is made by our interpretation of photography. The change of the reality can be realized just in the dialog between photography and reality. Can it be, that the mechanization change into the will? Does it prays praying mill or the buddhistic monk, who rotates the mill? When he believes into it, is it enough? Or is it enough if believes who watch the monk with his mill? ... The computers from he place A are "praying" the prayers from the place B. With Tomáš Javůrek we collaborated with Vladimír Veselý and Radek Lát to create the Game for re-articulation our reality on the base of the revision of our faith.
Voguing is not white, honey...
Venturová, Adéla ; Trnková, Barbora (referee) ; Klodová, Lenka (advisor)
In my diploma thesis I deal with the concept of "natural". I wonder what society considers natural and what it doesn't. For this "research", I borrowed the dance genre of Vogue, which was invented by the trans subculture, as a celebration of the otherness of sexual identities. I open questions of normality and nature through new entities, which I create from found synthetic materials and my body. At the same time, artificial materials illustrate the issue of nature not only in society but also in the environment. The final work is assemblage. But it is not just about connecting different materials, but also about connecting different media, feelings, themes and thoughts that culminate in one whole. However, with its creation, it slowly disappears again. As a result, it is an installation consisting of decomposing costumes, which I used in three already performed performances. The installation creates an environment for a new action. Specifically for the dance "battle", which will be based on the already mentioned "voguing". The performance lasts until one of the two performers is exhausted and is accompanied by music and authentic screams from real "battles".

The work will consists of tarot inspired large format pictures which can be used as a traditional tarot card deck. The outcome will be installation of drawings and documentation of card/pictures reading performances.

Effect of background EMG activity on magnitude of evoked response
Trnková, Barbora ; Otáhal, Jakub (advisor) ; Pánek, David (referee)
Introduction: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of spontaneous electrical activity of a muscle on the degree of evoked response. Analysis of function of plantar flexor muscles and neuromuscular junction during indolent electric stimulation of fibular nerve in the poples may bring new information that might contribute to deepen our knowledge of biomechanical and neurophysiologic nature of changes of shape and latency of evoked reactions in various sorts of strain. The aim of the paper: To evoke H-reflex via electric stimulation of tibial nerve with escalating strain of plantar flexor muscles of the foot in supine position. To process and analyse data by computer. To assess findings of the study. Methods: The dissertation is made out in the form of processing of case data from volunteers, whose muscle electrical activity will be scanned via superficial electrodes attached to the skin above a muscle during indolent electrical stimulation of tibial nerve in the poples. The muscle will be strained using a weight and the muscle response evoked by the stimulation will be scanned using EMG. The measurement will be carried out in various sorts of strain (isometric-isotonic). The data will be further processed and analysed by computer. Results: The results clarify the H-reflex modulation during...
