Revitalization of the building, a case study of the use of the building Dobříš Cinema.

This Master thesis is dealing with building of the former cinema from 1950 its meaning and current possibilities of using. The building is located in the city center and it is thus denied to the attention of local residents. The aim of this work was to assess the current needs of the locals and further implement them to structural and technical project-level study. The building still hides its potential and is seen untapped in this area today. Local organizations and individuals have expressed their interest in the preservation of the building in the past and it makes a pressure to municipality to do action. The outcome of work is more valuable because it can serve as a basis for building authority and competent authorities as an inspiration in the current negotiations on the future shape of the object.
Evaluation of the natural recreational potential of the area Smečno - Ledce - Přelíc

The thesis deals with the evaluation of the natural recreational potential of a selected area. The evaluation is based on three different methods with different approaches. Selected methods are TERPLAN, Inverse Distance Weighting IDW and Focal statistics. The evaluation was situated in the Central Bohemian Region in the territory of Smecno, Ledce and Prelic. Input data for TERPLAN were created by vectorization of base maps. The TEPRLAN method needed to be edited for needs of selected area, because the original form of the TERPLAN is strictly focused on several landscape features. Input data for the other two methods comes from questionnaires. Landscape features were divided into five groups which each of them represent a specific sort of a recreation. These groups were rated according to the results of questionnaires. The IDW method evaluated the recreational potential on basis of distances between the centers of towns and landscape features. The result of this method is an interpolated value of recreational potential for its center. The recreational potential was counted for every town center and their merger gives a final raster layer as a result of recreational potential of whole area. The method of focal statistics was counted for mean and sum of input values. The raster layer of mean focal statistics represent a distribution of important landscape features in area. Second method of focal statistics with sum leads to the results that summarize recreational potential of each segment in area. Results of these three methods were supplemented with field research. According to the results of all methods was selected part of area with greatest recreation potential where was situated plans to boost actual potential. These plans should bring recreation opportunities closer to the public. Outcomes of this thesis can be used as input for next strategic planning development of this area.
Development and function of public spaces in the urban structure of the example the city Opočno.

This thesis firstly discuss the theory of a public space, divides it and characterizes, tries to find its function and considers its essential elements. A relatively large part of this section is devoted to historical and present views of public spaces in cities, while taking in account various threats to the concept of public space and looks for indicators that seeks its sustainable development. The second part of this writing deals with a case study made up for the Opočno town that focused particularly on the town plazas. Theoretical findings of that study were then compared with the real environment of the Kupka's and the Trčka's town squares. Our own observation also included a research conducted among residents of the town of Opočno, which revealed various views and opinions on the function of the town public spaces. That allowed us to propose a small changes that could improve the usability of such public spaces.
Revitalization of the historic building of the former wine cellars in Podhoří

This thesis deals with the revitalization of the historic building of the former wine cellars in Prague Troja, in an area called Podhoří. Part of the revitalization is the evaluation of the current unused land. The search part of us through the problems associated with building surveys and analyzes that are needed in the pre-project phase. Based on the findings of the exploratory part is made a comprehensive analysis of the object and the surrounding area. The analysis consists not only in its own on-site investigation and its immediate surroundings, but also finding historical accounts about the object and in the literature. On the basis of these analyzes the historical buildings and construction and construction-technical survey of the building. The work is finished design studies for the new use of the premises, which should serve the general public.
Impact of changes in regulatory plan for the Greater Prague - origins of unintended areas in selected streets of Prague.

This thesis focuses itself on the consequences of the abandoning of the regulatory plan fof Greater Prague and its surroundings. It specifically examines existence of a "pavement niches", which formed due widening of the street in only few parts of its length. This thesis is trying to describe circumstances of the existence of the "niches" in Prague and its trying to propose some future use of these particular spaces in the street Milady Horákové.
Increase the recreational use of nature reserve Vysoka Beta, a case study of the construction project lookout.

This diploma thesis deals with the improvement of recreational use in the nature reserve High Beta by placing the new observation tower. The design study of the observation tower is a reflection of surveys and analyses of the area in relation to nature and landscape conditions, recreational use and economic point of view. The theoretical part explores the concepts of recreation, tourism, observation tower and nature protection. Further the thesis includes the characteristic of the analysed area related to the natural, histotical and cultural contexts. The thesis is finished with the design part where three different visulalizations of the observation tower are processed. One of them is a study in the range of project documentation that recpects the regulations of the area.
Draft concept of a strategic plan for the municipality Obecnice

The dissertation is divided into theoretical part which is devoted to the description of regional development, strategic planning and a strategic plan comparison on the supranational scale, namely in selected European countries. The pratcical part describes the territory of the municipality Obecnice, its socio-econonic analysis in the field of economics, demographics, tourism, community facilities, infrastructure and the environment and local survey. The dissertation result is analisis of general relations in the territory of the municipality Obecnice, synthesis of findings which is included in the municipality SWOT analysis and development measures formulation to achieve strategic visions. Outputs are in graphical, tabular and map expression. Since strategic planning is at several levels in the Czech Republic, the dissertation is dealing with local level only.
