The perceived link between environmentally friendly behavior and social status
Pourová, Barbora ; Richter, Eva (advisor) ; Šafr, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to find out how the perception of environmentally friendly behavior and social status are related, more precisely, how Czechs perceive individual examples of environmentally friendly behavior, whether they increase social status, or rather if they are associated with saving money or protecting nature. I conducted a questionnaire survey on the topic. Czechs perceive activities of environmentally friendly behavior differently than abroad, where activities that increase social status mainly include financially demanding and publicly visible activities. The questionnaire survey showed that Czechs also consider other levels in their social status and therefore include less visible and financially inexpensive activities among them. They have a negative perception of excessive activism.

Pourová, Barbora ; Richter, Eva (advisor) ; Vinopal, Jiří (referee)
In my diploma thesis I wanted to find out how environmentally friendly behaviour and social status are related. More precisely, how Czech people perceive individual examples of environmentally friendly behavior; whether they think they increase social status, or instead associate them with saving money and/ or protecting the environment. I conducted a survey on this topic. Czechs perceive activities of environmentally friendly behavior differently than abroad. Even such activities as reducing electricity consumption (2nd place) or reducing water consumption (4th place) were considered to increase the social status of the executor, alongside more financially demanding activities such as installing solar panels (1st place) and buying an electric or hybrid car (3rd place), which with its position confirmed the results from abroad.
Presenting old age in television advertising
Pourová, Barbora ; Buriánek, Jiří (advisor) ; Sedláčková, Markéta (referee)
This bachelor thesis is about the portrayal of old age in advertisements. Most attention of scientist and the general public is towards the portrayal of gender stereotypes in advertisements. Even though there are some foreign research papers, this topic of presenting the elderly is not very common in Czech Republic. The aim is to describe how the elderly are presented in advertisements today, compare the findings with the past and describe the changes that took place. This thesis will not be only focused on the way the old age is portrayed but also on the products that are associated with the elderly in advertisements and if they are portrayed stereotypically.
