Implementation of industrial X-ray computed microtomography in developmental biology

Rentgenová počítačová mikrotomografie (CT) je metoda pro trojrozměrné (3D) zobrazování vnitřní struktury objektů. Laboratoř rentgenové počítačové mikro a nanotomografie na CEITEC VUT (Středoevropský technologický institut, Vysoké učení technické v Brně) se zaměřuje zejména na nedestruktivní analýzu v průmyslovém odvětví. Ukázalo se ale, že tato metoda nachází široké uplatnění i v dalších vědeckých oblastech včetně vývojové biologie. Tato práce poskytuje propojení mezi materiálovými a živými vědami. Kompletní proces vedoucí k vytvoření 3D modelu různých anatomických struktur je detailně popsán. Tento postup zahrnuje kontrastování vzorků, samotné CT měření a analýzu dat. Právě zpracování dat je mnohdy považováno za nejdůležitější část v rentgenové počítačové tomografii a proto je této oblasti věnována v práci největší část. Úpravou měřicích parametrů byl dále optimalizován CT přístroj GE v|tome|x L 240 za účelem umožnění automatické segmentace. Navíc je diskutována možnost měření na synchrotronu za účelem zvýšení prostorového rozlišení a diferenciálního kontrastu. Předpokládá se, že v blízké budoucnosti získají průmyslové CT přístroje podobné zobrazovací vlastnosti, a to jak díky nedávnému vývoji v oblasti hardwaru, tak v oblasti zpracování dat.

Title: Physiotherapy approaches aimed at management of talipes planus, subtitle: diagnosis and therapy Abstract: Bachelor thesis is aimed on the diagnosis of talipes planus and physiotherypy methods suitable for patients with the untreated talipes planus. Talipes planus causes a lot of musculoskeletal problems so is important to start with diagnosis and therapy early. The theoretical part contains anatomy of the foot, differential diagnosis of the talipes planus and its causes, symptoms and consequences. Farther is described here influence of the talipes planus to our posture. The main chapters of the theoretical part are diagnostic methods and therapy aimed on the talipes planus. The practical part includes casuistries of free patients who have at least type of untretaed talipes planus. The casuistries contain case history, input and output kinesiology analysis, a detail description of the therapy and total evalution and comparison of the effect of physiotherapy between patients. Foreigners within Karlovy Vary urban region: spatial distribution and influences on local environment

Foreigners within Karlovy Vary urban region: spatial distribution and influences on local environment Due to exceptional migration characteristics of Czechia among CEE countries and entire EU, foreigners are becoming more and more important component of population of our cities. This fact implies the growing importance of foreign population as an agent in process of shaping the lived space. The aim of this diploma thesis is the presence of foreigners within the urban region and broader environs of Karlovy Vary - which currently is a city with one of the highest proportions of foreign population in entire Czechia. Migration characteristics and mobility of population of area are analysed with emphasis on foreigners. Subsequently patterns of spatial distribution of significant groups of foreigners are explained on various levels, based on unique unpublished data from Czech Foreign police office. Then the core section of empirical part is the analysis of influence of foreign inhabitants on the local environment, which stems from detailed field research carried out by the author. The work varies between urban and migration studies and theoretically is roofed by concepts of socio-spatial differentiation and residential mobility.
