Pilot questioning of patological addiction on food - investigation accomplished in selected Prague fast food restaurants and sweetshops

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of food addiction. The research was held among the customers of Prague sweetshops, fast foods and supermarkets. The aim of this work is to find the prevalence of this phenomenon if Prague population, which visits these organizations. The second aim of this work is to deal with prevalence of food dependence in relation with social - demographic readings, such as gender, age, the highest education and a level of month salary. It pays attention to the high incidence of different criterion of food addiction. Finally it deals with problematic foodstuff. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part deals with the problems of food dependence. According to the bibliographic search this work reports on diagnostic methods for this illness and on most frequent problematic foodstuff, like additives in food. For better understanding of this problem I include to my work differences between eating disorders, obesity and food addiction. In this theoretic part, there is also article which deals with results of researches on rodents and human beings. This article confirms that this illness exists. Characteristics of addictive behavior on the Internet of visitors and users of self-help application of Internet counseling service of Addictologal Clinic at Fist Faculty of Medicine

The development of computer technology intervened to socio-psychological and psychiatric fields and gave rise to several types of online counseling and therapy. As the latest trends in online counseling and therapy self created applications in the textile even non textile addiction. In the Czech Republic was the first self-help application in the treatment of no cloth addiction, clinic was founded in Addictology, the first Medical Faculty of Charles University within the Internet counseling. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the data after the first year of self-help application and to describe the demographic characteristics of users, to map incoming user self- motivated applications and types of objects the internet addiction. In the research issues the thesis deals with the analysis of demographic data, determines whether they are represented in all potential target groups, the degree of dependence on the Internet within the file, depending on what kind of Internet application in the present, and finally discovers self-help application users' motives for its use. Relapse and relapse prevention in a client with alcohol dependence - case study

Relapse is a phenomenon frequently co-occurring in substance abuse and dependence. Relapse prevention is a cornerstone of therapeutical work with the clients. This thesis are built upon a qualitative research conducted on a case study of a client with alcohol dependence. The aim of this work is to study relapse related matters and relapse prevention problems in the given case. Semi-structured interview was used as the method of this research together with reviewing medical documentation, the life curve and direct observation of the client. The objectives are: to search the circumstances precluding the relapses, the development of these phenomena, and to identify what lead the client to deal with situations of failure. The work is also focused on the perception of the situations by the client and his way back to abstinence. The chronological development of the disease and the current condition of the client are described in respective parts of the thesis.

Barriers to accessing treatment for women with alcohol dependence Petra Ondráčková, bachelor's thesis Abstract Background: Women's alcoholism has generally greater negative impact on women's health, their family and children and therefore it is less tolerated by society and alcohol dependent women are more condemned than men. Women's drinking is negatively perceived by the lay as well as the specialized public thanks to many stereotypes making dependent women's situation worse. Many women stay anonymous because they are afraid to seek specialized help. During treatment from alcohol dependence it is necessary - especially for women - to work with barriers stopping effective treatment. Objective: Main goal of this research was to find out barriers to accessing treatment for women with alcohol dependence. Partial goal of this thesis was an effort to point out to stigmatization of female population using addictive substances in comparison with the male one, which is definitely one of the main reasons why women less often have courage for stepping out from anonymity and using offered services. Tobacco dependence in terms of service to clients dependent on alcohol

This thesis deals with the problem of tobacco addiction among clients dependent on alcohol. It surveys the attitudes and needs of service providers to clients addicted to alcohol with regard to the phenomenon of addiction to tobacco. In the first half of the theoretical part I describe general information related to the smoking and to the alcohol, such as history, occurrence in the population, their characteristics and effects, and one chapter is devoted to the specific interaction of tobacco and alcohol. In the second half, I focused on the diagnosis and assessment of the rate dependence, on the description of the dependence on these substances, therapeutic interventions and on the medical care system. In the empirical part this thesis deals with the issue of Tobacco Addiction treatment with simultaneous treatment of alcoholism. How is the practice now and how it would according to the view of workers be involved in the treatment of alcoholism should have to be Tobacco Addiction treatment included in their services. The burnout syndrome among workers of outreach programs for drug users

BACKGROUND: The burnout syndrome is at the forefront since 70s of the 20th century. Since then many researches were realized. In the Czech Republic especially authors Kebza and Šolcová are concerned with burnout syndrome. Researches focused on burnout syndrome among outreachworkers with drug users aren't too common. AIMS: The main aim of this work is to find the measure of susceptibility to burnout syndrome among workers of outreach programs for drug users in the Czech Republic. For the research were determined four research questions. METHODS: For the research was used a method of questionnaire research namely questionnaire Inventář projevů syndromu vyhoření by Jiří and Tamara Tošnerovi. SAMPLE: Totally 63 outreach programs for drug users from the whole Czech Republic were asked. In the research participated 53 responders, 20 men (38 %) and 33 women (62 %). RESULTS: In general, we can say that results are quite low in relation to susceptibility to burnout syndrome. Few responders who reached higher results in single parts are the exceptions. Responders can reach maximally 96 points, and average score was 19, 9 points. Men reached 18, 7 points in average and women 20, 7 points.
