Nosková, Lenka ; Kmoch, Stanislav (advisor) ; Sedláček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Živný, Jan (referee)
Rare diseases are a heterogeneous group of disorders. Knowledge of their molecular basis is poor and till recently there were no appropriate methodical approaches due to a limited number of patients. Novel genomic techniques, especially the DNA array technology and the next generation sequencing emerging in last few years, enabled studies of these diseases even in small families and sporadic cases. This PhD thesis focuses on application of novel genomic techniques in studies of rare inherited diseases. It describes a use of DNA array technology in linkage analysis, analysis of differential gene expression, analysis of copy number variations and homozygous mapping, and a use of next generation sequencing technology. Combination of these methods was used for identification of molecular basis of adult neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, Rotor syndrome, isolated defect of ATP synthase and mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIC.

The final thesis focuses on evaluating the marketing strategies of the village primary school management within the competitive background created by the town primary schools. One of the main points of the thesis is to enrich these strategies by means of executive directors' as well as my own experience. Other sources of such enrichment are the study literature and the available research knowledge as well as the knowledge of the chief pedagogical executives' final theses. In this respect, the marketing strategies should be posing a benefit for a classical village primary school to stand up to the challenging competitive struggle. The benefit from the thesis consists in using its conclusions by the village school headmasters as well as the institutors.

In the area of education, these analyzes are performed at different stages of the education system, but the area of non-teaching staff, school meals workers in particular, is slightly neglected. Therefore, I believe that an analysis of financing the direct costs of selected school facilities established by the ÚSC in each region may be an example of how the direct costs are developing. In this way, employees of those regions will get a comprehensive view of the issue of direct costs on school catering facilities.
