Metaheuristic optimalization for routing problems
Novák, Vít ; Fábry, Jan (advisor) ; Melechovský, Jan (referee)
Routing problems are ones of the most famous members of the group of the classical optimalization combinatorial problems. Travelling salesman problem and problems derived from it have been attracting mathematics and analysts, since they were firstly formulated, and accelerating a development of new methods and approaches that can be used for a wide range of another real-life problems. This thesis aims to demonstrate an usefulness and a flexibility of shown metaheristic methods. Results are compared with outputs of alternative algorithms or known optimal solutions where it is possible. To fulfill this goal the VBA application has been developed. The results of experiments are presented and the application is decribed in a second part of this thesis. A reader should be sufficiently instructed which way he could choose to solve similar types of problems
Design and implementation of vehicle routing problem software library
Drobný, Michal ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Melechovský, Jan (referee)
Various types of transportation issues are a common practice. The issue may be approached mainly as the distribution of products from suppliers to consumers while minimising distribution costs. The difference of real transportation issues predominantly relates to the considered restrictions, such as capacities of vehicles and orders, time windows and other special distribution restrictions. There are some specialized commercial products for optimizing distribution costs presented on the market. These are often part of larger frameworks, which also provides other services such as vehicle tracking, warehouse location, ride statements etc. These products provide cloud services fully customized according to the customer. This work aims to design and construct an open source software library for solving vehicle routing problem, which will be able to reflect requirements of simplicity, scalability and portability. The constructed library can serve not only as an open source solution for vehicle routing problems, but also as a tool for testing new methods studied on university premises. The work is divided into several parts. In the first part we define the goals of this work, we define the vehicle routing problem and we describe the principles of the solution. In the next section, we propose the structure of the software, we discuss the choice of aids and document a design phase. The last part deals with the implementation phase, validation phase and real use of the software.
Using artificial neural networks to solve problems in combinatorial optimization
Dvořák, Marek ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor) ; Melechovský, Jan (referee)
This thesis discusses combinatorial optimization problems, its characteristics and solving methods. Different types of such problems are presented here and I hint at solution using classical heuristical algorithms. In the next part, I focus on artificial neural networks, their description and classification. In the last part, I'm comparing two neural network approaches for solving a travelling salesman problem on several examples.
Methods of Project management applied on a real project
Dubnová, Jindřiška ; Borovička, Adam (advisor) ; Melechovský, Jan (referee)
This bachelor's dissertation topic is project management. In the theoretical part there are described basic terms and methods of project management which are applied on already realized project Regeneration of the suburban recreational forest in the location Střelnice in Nová Paka. In the practical part we use these methods to analyse the project mainly from the point of possible risks and help a project team to organise facts about the project in a well arranged way. Lastly the project is planned using MS Project which displays project in Gantt chart after entering relevant inputs.
Logistics management of complaints in the distribution channel
Vopatřilová, Lenka ; Melechovský, Jan (advisor) ; Šrajbr, Jan (referee)
In the theroetical part is this bacelor thesis focused on reverse logistics and customer servis. In the operative part it displays the process of solving logistic claims in Fujistu Siemens Computer s.r.o. and it proposes recommendations which would help to make this process more effective.
Analysis of the railway transportation in New York City
Krupa, Stanislav ; Melechovský, Jan (advisor) ; Mervart, Michal (referee)
Railway transportation in New York is one of the oldest and largest systems in the world. Subway, according to the high density of the city, is the essential part of passenger transportation within the boroughs of New York City - Manhattan, Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. Connections to rural and intercity transportation increases the passenger flow within the system and classifies itself as one of the busiest subways in the world. The future of subway lays in track improvements and enlargements including new line T which is being constructed. A significant impact has the current financial crisis also and makes MTA - the management of the subway take important decisions regarding investment strategy. Overall, the railway system has been reliable, however, there are several challenges that must be taken into consideration to ensure the transportation for more than 8 mil. people in the area.
Optimisation of material and information flows in small e-shop with nutrition supplements
Habrnal, Marek ; Novotný, Michal (advisor) ; Melechovský, Jan (referee)
Usability evaluation of optimization methods of material and information flows in small e-shop.
Satellite communications systems and their usage in transport
