Proposal of a new product launching

The subject of this bachelos study called "A new Household Article Market Product Release" is an analysis of releasing a new product line "Titanio Juliette" (Pentolpress Titanio). Elimex Group a.s. is releasing this product to a Czech market and the subject of this study is also a concluded recomendation for the next year. The first part compiles theoretical solutions for a market plan creation. That means specific methods used for creating a situational analysis and detailed analysis of fundamental parts of the market mix – called 4P ( product, price, place, promotion) - for the right selection of a marketing strategy when implementing a new product line. The second part is more practical and it characterises a company mentioned above, marketing mix of a new product line and also suggested recomendations for the next year.

External causes of death - regional differences and context in districts of CZ

This diploma thesis analyzes mortality from external causes in the region of CZ between 2014 and 2018. The main focus is on external causes of death as a group, suicide rates, and mortality from traffic accidents. Another aim of this thesis is, besides the description of mortality from external causes, to identify regional correlation and differences in mortality from external causes and selected causes of death (suicides and traffic accidents). This study uses correlation, factor, and cluster analysis. Because of the low numbers of deaths in the case of women (in all dependent variables), the study analyzes mortality from both sexes together. Based on created factors clusters of regions are developed. Results show the difference between regions in CZ in mortality external causes. Regions also vary in suicide mortality rates and traffic accident mortality rates. Independent variables that correlate with mortality from external causes vary for external causes as a group, for suicides, and for mortality from traffic accidents. Longitudinal analysis of excess mortality of men in the adolescence and early adulthood of the Czech Republic

The excess mortality of young men is discussed in many disciplines. However, the determinants of its occurrence are not yet fully apparent. This work is therefore focused on the detailed analysis of the male mortality rates in adolescence and early adulthood (15-30 years of age) in the Czech Republic, for cohorts born in 1935-1990. The development of mortality is also expressed by the aggregate indicator of the temporary median life span and its decomposition through the Pressat decomposition method of life expectancy. Furthermore, the difference in male and female mortality is compared. Based on an analysis of the selected longitudinal data, the validity of endogenous and exogenous hypotheses on the development of male mortality at the young age is tested.

EU-SILC Indicators International Comparison

This thesis is focused on comparison of selected indicators within EU-SILC and project Europe 2020. Data for analysis were used from databases of Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat). Following selected indicators are analysed: employment rate, people at risk of poverty or social exclusion, life expectancy. Trend-cycle series are used for analysis of selected indicators and values predicted for the year 2020 which are then compared with project Europe 2020 goals for countries the Czech Republic and Germany and in this way setting of these goals validated.

Using Demographic Networks in Economic Statistics

One of the first analytical tools that can be used to analyze data is the graphical representation. The time that is used as a measure in tasks in a wide range is problematic to grasp, and its mapping is not easy. In demographics, some tools, such as the Lexis diagram, are used. However, the list of graphical tools can be extended by diagrams that look at the time measure in different ways. Their use can be demonstrated not only on demographic data but also on non-demographic data and the modern statistical program R can be used too.

Analysis of failed studies at universities in the Czech Republic

The master thesis deals with failed studies at universities in the Czech Republic. The first part is focused on literary research, on explanation of theoretical terms and on statistical methods, which are subsequently applied in the analytical part. These are decision trees and logistic regression that helped to determine the influence of factors on studies without graduation. The aim of this master thesis is to find significant factors, to compile a profile of failed students and to suggest the measures which could reduce their elimination from tertiary education.

Cohort mortality pattern and its modelling

The aim of the thesis is to introduce a simple alternative approach of mortality modeling (future estimates of mortality rates) which is based on cohort mortality patterns. The assumption of constant change of the force of mortality between two following ages across cohorts is the fundamental base of the proposed model. Theoretical aspects of the model are discussed and its assumptions are verified on time series of Swedish data which are long enough for this purpose. Results of the model application are compared with empirical results of already extinct cohorts and some estimates for still living cohorts are made too. Applications on real data showed good results which respected changes in the mortality development.
