Zvýšená úmrtnost mladých mužů je diskutována z hlediska mnoha vědních oborů. Determinanty jejího vzniku však dosud nejsou zcela patrné. Tato práce je proto zaměřena na detailní analýzu úmrtnostních měr mužů v období adolescence a rané dospělosti (15-30 let věku) na území ČR, u kohort narozených v letech 1935-1990. Vývoj úmrtnosti je vyjádřen také souhrnným ukazatelem dočasné střední délky života a jeho rozkladem pomocí Pressatovy dekompoziční metody naděje dožití. Dále je porovnán rozdíl v úmrtnosti mužů a žen. Na základě analýzy zvolených longitudinálních dat je testována platnost endogenních a exogenních hypotéz o vzniku úmrtnostního vrcholu v mladém věku u mužů. The excess mortality of young men is discussed in many disciplines. However, the determinants of its occurrence are not yet fully apparent. This work is therefore focused on the detailed analysis of the male mortality rates in adolescence and early adulthood (15-30 years of age) in the Czech Republic, for cohorts born in 1935-1990. The development of mortality is also expressed by the aggregate indicator of the temporary median life span and its decomposition through the Pressat decomposition method of life expectancy. Furthermore, the difference in male and female mortality is compared. Based on an analysis of the selected longitudinal data, the validity of endogenous and exogenous hypotheses on the development of male mortality at the young age is tested.
