Multimedia transmissions in wireless networks
Zicha, Karel ; Šedý, Jakub (referee) ; Krkoš, Radko (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to summarize the qualities of wireless networks operating in the frequency band of 2.4 GHz. In the first part, theoretical knowledge about the architecture of the networks and the comparison of individual standards are presented; the types of interference caused by external devices, including the issue of a hidden node. The possibilities of providing quality services are described following the qWave set. Further, we explore individual access methods and multimedia protocols. The second part comprises the practical verification of this knowledge. The throughput tests of the individual networks were conducted regarding the type of the issue. In the conclusion, the recorded knowledge is described and evaluated.
Simulation Design in Communication System Training
Takács, Endre ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The aim of this work was to analyze the problematics of modern communication systems focusing on the converged network and their elements and to propose a laboratory work. The theoretical part of the work is extensive. It deals with the network architecture OSI, which forms the basic of modern communication networks. It describes also the active network elements and their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. The theoretical part deals in a chapter with the neuron networks, which describes the basic artificial neuron of a network, which can be used for the controlling of network elements. These networks are Hopfield network and Kohonen network. The practical part deals with the proposing of the laboratory work into the education, which is focused on the Hopfield network and the functioning of classifier switches. The work is made in Matlab.
General Processing on Graphics Processing Units for Industrial Systems
Lukačovič, Martin ; Mašek, Jan (referee) ; Krkoš, Radko (advisor)
The thesis deals with the abilities of graphics processors for GPGPU. It contains historical solutions to contemporary design. There are also described graphics processors from the largest manufacturers of this time, their focus and goals in the future. For algorithms implementation using GPU, there are necessary APIs that offer various possibilities of execution. In addition to the CPU and GPU universal heterogeneous computing, there are alternatives such as FPGA and DSP so it is necessary to consider the price and energy cost. Part of the work is devoted to the communication possibilities with the hardware and advanced memory approaches. For demonstrating parallel computing an implementation of matrix multiplication in OpenCL was realized.
New trends in data network design
Hlavatý, Jindřich ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
are used. In the theoretical part I analyse some basic network protocols and their gradual development, VLANs and Spanning Tree Protocol, MPLS protocol and other. There are described parameters for the design of new networks and the models networks and their various are used, the network with a new architecture and a software-defined network (SDN),too. The practical part deals with designed laboratory exercises for teaching students. The laboratory experiments are always divided into several tasks. They are formed even students ignorant or less familiar with the issue could configure and test it.
Analysis of control traffic in mobile networks
Šubrt, Jan ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The Bachelor´s thesis describe management procedures in mobile systems. This thesis is mainly focused on mobile systems GSM and LTE. Further are describe basic processes what are required before starting service. This basic procedures contains: inspection of radio signals, select the cell with the best parameters for connection, allocate channel to mobile station, authentication of subscriber and location update. Next part of thesis describe procedures in handover, initialize call session and data session. Last chapter describes laboratory task for subject Communication resources in mobile networks.
Network virtualization - software defined networks
Veselý, Marek ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The aim of work is a new trend in network architecture, called Software defined networks. Describes function of controller as the main device, which controlling the whole network. Further the communication between switch and controller is here, which controlling protocol OpenFlow. First chapter gently deal with principe of the VLAN networking. Further it is much more oriented with software defined networks, where the main principe is described. Protocol OpenFlow is described in deatail, as his functions are discussed too. There are also advantages and disadvantages and possibility to use this network in university campus.
Quality of Service in Cellular Networks
Spiššák, Filip ; Mašek, Jan (referee) ; Krkoš, Radko (advisor)
This thesis deals with the quality of service (QoS) mechanism in Evolved Packet System (EPS). The basic architecture and characteristics of the EPS are introduced. The concept of QoS is defined. Furthermore, QoS related entities, their functions and corresponding procedures are described. The methodology for measuring and evaluating of end-to-end QoS as seen from a user’s point of view is designed. This methodology is used to measure QoS of experimental cellular network at UTKO FEEC BUT. Finally, configuration change for optimizing the QoS support of experimental cellular network is designed.
Wireless Mesh Protocol for FreeRTOS
Horák, Martin ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Červenka, Vladimír (advisor)
Bachelor thesis aims to introduce in thereretical part operating principe of mesh network, their practical use, brief introduction of mesh protokol and standard 802.15.4. Also present a real-time operating systems, that can be used for programming applications based on real-time operating systems architecture. In practical part is to create several progres and made measurements of energy consumption and the number of cycles. Based on the results is found most appropriate implementation into the FreeRTOS. The final chapter is devoted to the overview of the achieved results, which are summarized in the tables.
Technology for comprehensive support of multimedia services in heterogeneous networks
Dosoudil, Petr ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The theses explains the Evolution Packet System (EPS) and subsystem IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). It also informs how these systems cooperate and through which interfaces the main data and signals between these two technologies are transfered. The thesis includes practical section, in which installation and configuration of sections of the IMS system including its "core", and application and medial server. For verification of the functionality of the system, two dissimilar clients are installed, and emulator WAN is applied for simulation of Internet. The product of the theses is the design of the laboratory exercise drafted in such a way that it can be solved by students less knowledgeable of the issues.
