Eventive objects after "have" and "take" - identification and translation correspondences
Křístková, Jana ; Brůhová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Čermák, Jan (referee)
The present MA thesis is concerned with an English verbonominal construction, which consists of a semantically light verb, in the case of the present thesis have and take, with an eventive object. The construction represents one semantic unit, which is proved by a paraphrase in which the object replaces the whole construction as the verb of the clause without any change of meaning. The construction affects the aspectual features of the verb, which is reflected in Czech translation equivalents. It also allows for easier modification and quantification. The kind of determiner and modifier present has an impact on the Czech counterparts, most importantly on the aspect of the verb. Modifiers usually translate as adverbials or adjectives modifying a syntactic object, if the Czech counterpart is verbonominal. The integration of the English modifiers into the Czech sentence is often problematic. The thesis presents a theoretical survey of information on the topic and provides a linguistic description of 279 examples of the construction obtained through the online corpora InterCorp. The examples are analyzed with respect to determiners, quantifiers and modifiers. This, along with the Czech counterparts, is the basis for conclusions on the influence of the construction on the translation to Czech.

Vliv kondice holštýnského skotu v období stání na sucho na kvalitu mleziva a mléčnou užitkovost ve vybraném chovu
Křístková, Jana
The main objective of this thesis is to assess the influence of condition of Holstein cattle during the dry period on the quality of colostrum and on the milk yield. The assessment is based on Body Condition Score (BCS) performed on dairy cows during the dry period and, subsequently, after calving. The experiment was carried on from December 2015 to October 2016 in Mléčná farma Lubina, s. r. o. farm. The Body Condition Score was assessed in the dry period and then within a week after calving. The overall number of examined animals is 384 cows in the dry period and 384 cows after calving. An hour after calving, a sample of colostrum was taken and its quality was assessed by a manual refractometer ATC (with automatic temperature compensation). The parameters of milk yield were obtained from the milk yield examination of each dairy cow 100 days after calving. The experiment showed that the physical condition of dairy cows in the dry period was highly influential (P is smaller than 0,01) in the average BCS in component ranges and that the physical condition after calving was also highly influential (P is smaller than 0,01) in the average BCS in component ranges. Furthermore, the conclusive impact (P is smaller than 0,05) on the contents of proteins in milk of dairy cows with BCS is smaller or equal than 3 (3,77 %) and of dairy cows with optimum BCS of 3,25 to 3,75 (3,89 %) was proved. In case of succession of lactation periods, the conclusive impact (P is smaller than 0,01) was proved on milk yield of cows in their 2nd lactation period (38,16 kg) and cows in their 3rd lactation period (41,17 kg), as well as on cows in their 4th lactation period (38,59 kg). Also, the statistically conclusive impact (P is smaller than 0,01) on the contents of proteins in milk and of lactose of dairy cows in their 2nd lactation period (3,71 % a 5,03 %) and of dairy cows in their 4th lactation period and latter (4,10 % a 4,96 %) was proved. Other results weren´t statistically significant.

Eventive objects after the verbs "have/take" ("have/take a little look") and their translation equivalents
Křístková, Jana ; Brůhová, Gabriela (referee) ; Šaldová, Pavlína (advisor)
This thesis analyzes one English syntactic construction which does not exist in Czech, i.e. the eventive object construction which consists of a light verb, in the case of this thesis have and take, which is complemented by an eventive object having the form of a deverbal noun morphologically identical with a simple verb. Although the construction is bipartite from the syntactic perspective, it represents one semantic unit which can be proved by a possible paraphrase in which the object replaces the construction as the verb of the clause without a change of meaning. The use of this construction modifies affects the aspectual features of the verb, which is reflected in Czech translation equivalents. Furthermore, the construction allows for easier modification and qualification. The kind and presence of determiner and modifier has an influence on the Czech translation, most importantly the aspect. Modifiers usually translate as adverbs or adjectives modifying a syntactic object, if the translation equivalent in Czech is a verbo-nominal construction. The thesis comprises on the one hand a theoretical survey of information on the topic, and on the other hand provides linguistic description of 140 examples of the construction from three English texts written by contemporary native speakers of English, as well as...
Vliv stájové teploty na ležení a stání dojnic holštýnského skotu ve volném boxovém ustájení
Křístková, Jana
The subject of this thesis was to evaluate the influence of stable temperature for lying and standing cows of Holstein cattle in free boxing housing. Observation was carried out on the Milk farm Lubina s.r.o., in the course of one calendar year, in winter and summer season (February to August). The reference factor was primarily Stable temperature, as well as seasons, milk production of dairy cows and lactation. Evaluation of behavioral symptoms was centered mainly on relaxation behavior of dairy cows and cos lying on laterality Statistical evaluation was done in STATISTICA 10.0. Based on the results we can say that Stable temperature or other examined factors do not affect the cows lying and standing. In particular temperature ranges more cows lay than stand and the preferences were left lying position.
