Art Therapy in Special Education with Orientation on the Treatment of Speech Therapy

This thesis is focused on the application of art therapy in the field of special education. Gradually, it focuses on individual fields of special education and expands on the applicability of art therapy in speech therapy intervention. The theoretical part aims to define art therapy as part of special education. It describes the development and intertwining of three different areas: fine arts, psychotherapy and education. Defines the term of special indication of art therapy and approaches the specifics of art therapy in individual fields of special education. It also focuses on the main features of the drawing of people with disabilities. The thesis focuses next on the field of speech therapy, where it tries to make visible some parallels between the development of drawing and the developmental stages of character drawing and the developmental stages of speech. It also focuses on the application of art therapy in therapy in children and adults, in neurodevelopmental speech and language disorders and acquired neurogenic speech disorders. This work deal with application of art therapy and gradually focuses on individual fields of special education and extends application of art therapy within speech therapy. The aim of theoretical part of this work is to define art therapy as a part of special pedagogy. It describes development and intersection of three different fields: visual art, psychotherapy and education. It defines the term of special indication of art therapy and describes the specifics of art therapy in individual fields of special education. It focuses on the main features of drawing of people with disabilities. Furthermore, it focuses on the speech therapy area in which it strives to highlight some of the parallels between the development of drawing and the developmental stages of character drawing and the developmental stages of speech. It deals with the application of art therapy within individual categories of NKS. The aim of research part was to find out the principles of content and formal changes in a figure's drawing regarding to changing of clinical picture during two diagnoses incurred based on organic brain damage. This work with title Possibility of using art therapy in the treatment of speech therapy lay down the goal in theoretic part describe penetrations art therapy and speech therapy and presented so coherent summary those problems in all symptomatic classification of speech language disorder. And then in scope art therapy define main relations and ideas from sphere terminology, definitions and analysis. In this sphere also defined forms therapy and presented triangular model of relationship among client, art therapist and art work. It concentated also on goals art therapy and meaning of colours. It also devoted to relationship of art therapy and special education. Practical part has two units. In it's scope there was the goal to form the logopedic - art therapy programme. First part engaged in logopedic - art therapy programme LOGOART, that is here shortly presented. The second part then started from three guestionnaire researches and concentrated on benefits of this programme, meaning of inquiry persons i fit would be intoductioned to the school practice, or would be supplement of speech therapy.
