Cultural Omnivorousness among Charles University Students

This thesis looks at the structure of cultural consumption among students of first and second year at Charles University with a focus on evaluation of the cultural omnivore thesis. According to the cultural omnivore thesis, the homology of cultural consumption and social class described by Pierre Bourdieu is no longer valid. The homology of social class and culture is supposedly being replaced by the eclectic cultural consumption of upper classes broadening their cultural consumption from the highbrow culture to middle- and lowbrow culture alike. In the first portion of the thesis, the author locates the cultural omnivorousness within the sociological context and provides an overview of existing research on the phenomenon of cultural omnivorousness. The author aims to examine, whether cultural omnivores among students of Charles University share other characteristics commonly associated with cultural omnivores, such as upper-class affiliation, political tolerance, and cosmopolitanism. Quantitative analysis of secondary data focused on cultural consumption allows to examine social class through parent's education and a battery of question on economic situation. Physical activities and their impact on health and development of fine and gross motor skills of children with disabilities

Anotace: Bakalářská práce je rozdělena do dvou částí - části teoretické a části praktické. Teoretická část je rozdělena do tří kapitol. V první kapitole se zabývám klasifikací postižení s vymezením pojmu dětské mozkové obrny. Ve druhé kapitole popisuji metody a terapie u dětí s postižením se zaměřením na Vojtovu metodu, fyzioterapii a animoterapii. V kapitole třetí jsou zastoupeny pohybové terapie a aktivity u dětí s postižením. V této části přibližuji rozvoj psychomotoriky. Čtvrtá kapitola je zaměřena na popis praktických postupů žáků speciální školy, popisuji metody rozvoje hybnosti. Ve srovnávacích tabulkách jsou uvedeny výsledky aktivního pozorování a jednotlivé aktivity jsou srovnány v grafu.

The rise and fall of New Labour : a political ideology or just a trend?

The Diploma thesis "The Rise and Fall of New Labour: A Political Ideology or a Just a Trend?" focuses on the analysis of a British political course called New Labour. The research focuses on internal and external factors that had allowed this ideology to dominate the British politics over the last 13 years under the established brand of Labour Party. This thesis constitutes a comparative case study, based on the theoretical assumption of time, as well as economic and social constrains of the New Labour phenomenon. The circumstances which back in 1997 allowed the election triumph of New Labour, are often similar to those, that let to its decline a decade later, amid the new social, economic and political climate, caused its decline. This hypothesis is confronted with a secondary research based on the evaluation of broader economic, social and political influences. While the study has proved the validity of the New Labour idea in times of favorable economic and political circumstances, such as the combination of divided opposition and economic boom, it has also shown its failure in the times of economic downturn. Effect of corporate tax for reporting of fixed assets

Fixed assets are an important component for any enterprise. The corporate tax, as one of the most important taxes in the Czech Republic, effects the reporting of these assets. This thesis highlights some of the important aspects of the impact of the corporate tax on this subject. Several errors are shown in reporting discussed assets which some companies may commit. This work also deals with differences between accounting and tax depreciation, summarizes the issues of component depreciation and creation of reserves for repairs of fixed assets, compares the tax and accounting definition file of movable assets, and defines conditions under which the intervention in the property is considered as a technical improvement or a repair. The thesis also shows the differences between accounting and tax rules that encourage companies to report fixed assets incorrectly.
