Railways in physics education
Růžička, Adam ; Kekule, Tomáš (advisor) ; Drozd, Zdeněk (referee)
The bachelor thesis presents railway phenomena and technical applications through grammar school physic. The underlying physical principles are easily visible to the ordinary eye when travelling by train. These phenomena can then be divided into mechanical, including thermal phenomena, and electrical. The work is written as a teacher's guide for physic classes, or rather a sort of stock of knowledge that can be refer to as practical examples. At the same time, the work is also designed for students who can read the text on his own, or for the less instructed interested in the subject.
Physics for (future) medics
Loukotová, Klára ; Kekule, Tomáš (advisor) ; Drozd, Zdeněk (referee)
This thesis covers several topics from physics which appear in typical medical school curriculum or which are required in order to study this type of schools. It is intended mainly for (future) medical school students. This target group often includes students who did not study physics in depth at secondary school. The reader is therefore not expected to have a great initial knowledge of physics. The emphasis is placed on explaining basic terms and text is supplemented by many illustrative images. From the high school physics perspective this thesis mainly covers mechanical waves, electric field and fluid mechanics. 1
Test Items For Molecular Physics and Thermodynamics
Kekule, Tomáš
The diploma work contains sets of items to measure knowledge and skills of grammar-school students in molecular physics and thermodynamics. The curriculum was split into four topics. Each topic corresponds to two sets of items. The items had been tried-out by students from seven classes of three grammar-schools, the item analysis was computed of obtained data. Unsuitable items have been updated. The items are corresponding to external part of final exam in grammar-schools which is being currently prepared. Each set also contains exemplary solutions of all items. There is a summary of important knowledge in fields of test items and their examination in the theoretical part of the work.
Influence of minor solutes on thermal properties of MgYNd-based alloys
Kodetová, Veronika ; Vlach, Martin (advisor) ; Kekule, Tomáš (referee)
The development of magnesium alloys has the growing trend and leads mainly to the transport industry and modern medicine. The use of the alloying elements, especially rare- earth elements, is a way to improve the material utility. In the present work, there was studied thermal evolution of the phase transformations in the MgYNd alloys containing additional elements by differential scanning calorimetry. The thermal responses at different heating rates were observed and the activation energies of the processes were calculated. On the basis of confrontation with literature the precipitation and dissolution of stable, metastable phases were assigned to the observed processes. The thermal response corresponding to the precipitation of the stable β phase was observed in all materials. The activation energies of the stable β phase precipitation are practically identical for all materials investigated.
Phase transformations in Mg-Zn-based alloys
Fischer, Josef ; Stulíková, Ivana (advisor) ; Kekule, Tomáš (referee)
In this thesis MgZnAlCa and MgZnAl materials were studied. For the study of phase transitions on studied materials the method of measuring the changes of resistivity and hardness was used. The measures were carried out at the temperature of 77 K and at the room temperature. Chosen annealing regimes were 20 K / 20 min and also regime without temperature change - 300 řC. Courses of annealing curves are similar. Material MgZnAlCa shows simpler course of annealing curves than material MgZnAl. With both materials the icosahedral quasicrystalis phase was observed. V této práci byly zkoumány materiály MgZnAlCa a MgZnAl. Pro studium fázových změn ve studovaných materiálech byla použita metoda měření změn rezistivity a tvrdosti. Měření probíhala při teplotě 77 K a při pokojové teplotě. Zvolené žíhací režimy byly 20 K / 20 min a dále režim bez změny teploty - 300 řC. Průběhy žíhacích křivek jsou podobné. Materiál MgZnAlCa vykazuje jednodušší průběh žíhacích křivek než materiál MgZnAl. V obou materiálech byla pozorována icosahedrální kvazikrystalická fáze.
