The social support as possible predictor of mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the whole world, has had many consequences for people's lives. These were not only the consequences for the physical health, but also the deterioration of the mental health of the population compared to the period before the pandemic. This diploma thesis examines what can support people's mental health at this time. One of the possible predictors of mental health is social support. This thesis aims to find out whether it proves to be a predictor of mental health even in a pandemic, when social contacts are forcibly limited and people can easily get into social isolation. The literature review part deals with the concept of mental health and well-being, mental health during the pandemic, the concept of social support and its impact on mental health. In the research part, data from a questionnaire survey conducted within the framework of international research were analyzed. Data collection took place between December 2020 and January 2021, when the pandemic situation in the Czech Republic was one of the worst in Europe. Multiple regression analysis showed that perceived social support from family, government and work is a significant predictor of mental health in the context of a pandemic. Workplace aggression: coping strategies and their effectiveness

This thesis focuses on the workplace aggression (mobbing) and the coping strategies of the victims of mobbing. The first part introduces a view to a variability of the possible forms of the workplace aggression, the definition of mobbing is provided and also are mentioned the specific stages of mobbing. The second part of the thesis contains the detailed review of the issues how the victims cope with the mobbing as with the stress issue in their lives. Based on the scientific research, single models of coping strategies are discussed and their effectiveness as well. Coping strategies are explained also considering the BIG 5 personality traits. In the final part of the thesis is propounded the research project which is focused on the mapping of coping strategies of the victims of mobbing, the link between personality traits and their effectiveness. Working hours, their duration and work schedule

- Working hours, their duration and work schedule This thesis introduces an overview of the current regulation of working hours and related institutes. It is focused on the particular options how to regulate working hours duration and working hours schedule, as well as on legal limits and restrictions. Working hours are crucial not merely for employers, but also for employees. For employees working hours also determine their leisure time. Therefore, this thesis is focused also on work-life balance with suitable work hours schedule. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part outlines the most important historical development of working hours regulation from medieval rules to the current regulation and its position in the current legal order, which is essential to correct grasp of subsequent parts. In the second, principal part of the thesis, are analysed particular concepts of working hours regulation, there is also an overview of related judicature which defines working hours, working hours duration and possibilities of scheduling. This part also includes a description of minimal rest periods, rest breaks, night work and on-call duty. The third part aims to introduce the special rules for two specific groups of employees.
