Czech influence in Celje
Rothová, Klára ; Jensterle Doležal, Alenka (advisor) ; Vinš, Přemysl (referee)
My bachelor's thesis is focused on the contacts of Czechs and Slovenians in Celje, the third largest city in Slovenia. The introductory part of the work is devoted to the development of relations between Czechs and Slovenians, which have a long tradition. Attention is paid to the earliest contacts with the Czech Republic. In Celje, it is the union of Sigismund of Luxemburg, King of Bohemia, and his second wife, Barbara of Celje, daughter of Herman II. Celjský, Count of Celje. But already to his father Charles IV. the Celjs ow their promotion to counts. Czech-Slovenian relations developed more intensively from the beginning of the 19th century in the fields of culture, art, education and sports. Linguistic, ethnic and cultural affinity led to more intensive contacts, but also their position within the Habsburg monarchy. In the nineties of the 19th century then both nations were part of the opposition Slavic coalition, when the only result of this cooperation was support for the establishment of Slovenian parallels at the German gymnasium in Celje. n this period, the Czechs were culturally and economically more advanced and were thus important helpers to the Slovenes. The work is mainly focused on personalities whose actions had a significant influence on the city of Celje in the 19th and 20th...
Josip Murn Aleksandrov
Nachlingerová, Zuzana ; Jensterle Doležal, Alenka (advisor) ; Nedvědová, Milada (referee)
Josip Murn is an slovenian poet, living 1879-1901. The poetry of Murn is mostly known as impressionistic, somethimes also designated as symbolistic, however, he is regarded as a full member of slovenian modernism now. The work concentrated on interpretation of Murn's poems. There are five main topics in Murn's poetic world, which are researched- these are: time, nature, space, God and love. There is also a special chapter dealing with a lyrical subject of the poetry and a chapter representing impressionism of his poetry. Two chapters consider the historical period and poet's life. The life influenced the work, regarding many tragic facts. Murn himself did not feel like a full member of any literate motion, but he was the one, who adopted new rules of free verse. Only one book of Murn was published after his death at the age of twenty two.

Early period of Protestant movement focused on Slovenian countries area and personality of Primož Trubar
The myth and the reality of the king Matthias in Slovenian literature
Kastner, Katalin ; Jensterle Doležal, Alenka (advisor) ; Nedvědová, Milada (referee)
This thesis explores the development of the King Matthias myth in Slovene literature from the 19th century onward. Ever since first appearing at the end of the 15th century (the period of Ottoman wars in Europe), the myth of King Matthias has been an important part of the Slovene cultural heritage. Though historical evidence is scarce, it is believed that after a small army of Slovene peasants fell in battle while trying to fend off the Ottoman invaders. The locals came up with a compensatory story, claiming that the Slovene fighters were not killed, but instead retreated into hiding. Soon, the story became less and less rooted in reality, and new elements were added. The newly created myth describes an army of a hundred soldiers, lead by a Slovene king named Matthias - a figure based on Matthias Corvinus, an actual Hungarian king in that period. In the story, the army is outnumbered and facing certain death, when suddenly a nearby mountain opens up, offering king Matthias and the remaining soldiers shelter. Legend has it that one day the king is to return from the mountain, bringing with him peace and prosperity. It is important to note that for a long time, the myth of king Matthias was not mere superstition, but represented a very prominent spiritual figure for the Slovene people. The archetypal king was...
Fair Vida: from popular ballad to drama of desire
Benhartová, Tereza ; Jensterle Doležal, Alenka (advisor) ; Nedvědová, Milada (referee)
Krásnou Vidu lze považovat za jeden z ústředních symbolů slovinské literatury. S tím souvisí i její obsahová šíře.
The Ideology, the Play, the Secret: The Role of the Slovene Contemporary Fairy-tale in 1945-1975
Slezáková, Magdalena ; Jensterle Doležal, Alenka (advisor) ; Nedvědová, Milada (referee)
The thesis deals with shapes of the Slovene fantastic tale in the 1945-1975's and looks into the roles which have been assigned to it by it's authors. The thesis assumes that during this period, there were three basic types of authorial approach: fantastic tale in the service of the state ideology, fantastic tale as a free play of imagination and fantastic tale with overlap. These three roles are analyzed on the example of nine fantastic tales, most of them being from the literary canon of the Slovene children's literature: Udarna brigada (Anton Ingolič), Zgode in nezgode kraljevskega dvora (Milan Šega), Drejček in trije Marsovčki (Vid Pečjak), Moj dežnik je lahko balon (Ela Peroci), Strah ima velike oči (Marjan Marinc), Kosovirja na leteči žlici (Svetlana Makarovič), Potovanje v tisočera mesta (Vitomil Zupan), Deklica Delfina in lisica Zvitorepka (Kristina Brenkova) and Avtomoto mravlje (Jože Snoj).

The Slovenian alienation poetry
Mžourková, Hana ; Jensterle Doležal, Alenka (advisor) ; Kozár, Aleš (referee) ; Poniž, Denis (referee)
The topic of our work is alienation lyric, especially that in the early works of Dane Zajc, Veno Taufer, Gregor Strniša (his collections from the years 1958-1965) and also in the mature core of Svetlana Makarovič's poetry (poems from the first half of the seventies, 20th century). In that time, the magazines Revija 57 and Perspektive were of significant influence on cultural climate of the period in Slovenia and they were also the intellectual background of artistic creation. There are several other lyrists working simultaneously with alienation poets and being close to them in some aspects: Božo Vodušek, Edvard Kocbek, Saša Vegri and Niko Grafenauer. Resemblance of their works to those of alienation lyric can partly be ascribed to the influence of existential philosophy which had a significant impact on Slovenian literary creation as well as on the cultural life as a whole in the sixties of the 20th century. We chose the viewpoint of the alienation lyric's fictional worlds in order to analyze and interpret particular collections of alienation poetry, the theoretical background for delimiting fictional worlds of lyric being Miroslav Červenka's reflexions. Central point of attention in our work is the lyrical subject and we also emphasize the existence of small fictional worlds (particular poems or series of...
