Cimbálová, Lucie ; Janyšková, Kristýna (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Miroslava (referee)
This thesis focuses on the forms and methods of support for individuals with mental illness aimed at helping them to return to normal life. The individual chapters of the thesis deal with the historical milestones of the emergence of psychiatry, the classification of mental illness and quality of life issues. Therefore, the most used therapeutic methods and strategies of working with clients are defined in the text, which lead to the adoption of appropriate daily habits, improvement of mental health and thus quality of life. The work also focuses on interdisciplinary cooperation, which, in addition to medicine, permeates other disciplines, namely psychology, social work and special education. The topic of my research is timely as an increasing number of people with mental illness are seeking professional help. Therefore, all team members should have sufficient knowledge of the symptomatology and nature of each psychiatric diagnosis. In order for interdisciplinary collaboration to be meaningful, the competencies of the individual professionals must be clearly defined. This creates an interconnected set of services aimed at making the person's integration into society and everyday life as easy as possible. This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of housing for people with physical and multiple disabilities outside of institutional care. The theoretical part first defines disability with special attention to physical and multiple disability. The next chapter describes the legislation concerning people with disabilities. The following chapters focus on various living options outside of institutional care, particularly independent living, as well as social services, especially personal assistance. In the last chapter, attention is paid to Asistence o.p.s., the non-profit organization providing social services to people with physical and multiple disabilities in Prague. Three selected clients of Asistence o.p.s. participated in the research for this bachelor thesis. The practical part focuses on the experiences with different types of housing of selected participants. It also examines what kinds of social services they use and how they generally evaluate their current life situation. For the research, a qualitative strategy was chosen, specifically the method of semi-structured interviews. The findings are then discussed in detail at the end of the thesis. Living of...

This doctoral dissertation's topic is mourning in people with intellectual disabilities who have lost a loved one. The research focuses mainly on the loss of parents, but also includes the loss of other people, such as grandparents. By loss we mean death, but the results of the work can also be used for losses of a different nature. The aim of this work is to understand grief in people with intellectual disabilities and to suggest appropriate ways to support their grieving process, with emphasis on grief support groups. As part of the research, we set up and implemented 2 support groups for grieving people with intellectual disabilities, each lasting at least 2 months and meeting once a week. At the very beginning of our research, we carried out one support group of the same length as a pilot study. The pilot study was first evaluated and the proposal of the support group according to the original foreign script was modified to better meet the needs of Czech citizens with intellectual disabilities. After the pilot study, we enriched the research with a questionnaire test of our own design, capturing a possible change in process of mourning in people involved in our support groups. We presented the questionnaire test to the participants before the start of the support groups and immediately after...
