IMPORTANT SOUTH CZECH DOUBLE BASS PLAYERS
Heřman, Libor ; ŽALUD, Radomír (advisor) ; HUDEC, Jiří (referee)
Frantisek Gregora which is an outstanding contrabassist, composer and theorist. Frantisek Simandl which is one of the most famous professors at Konservatorium Wien or George Mraz which is worldwide double bass player. All they were born in South Czech, and my master diploma Thesis is dedicated to them. But this my work will not be only devoted to them, I will also talk about other famous musicians from South Czech as Jozef Houdek, and also about Petr Ries or Karel Sejna which are both members of Czech Philharmonic, because they were and they are important representatives of czech double bass school.
Current Trends in the Use of classical Instruments in popular Music.
Pech, Jan ; HOŠEK, Jiří (advisor) ; HUDEC, Jiří (referee)
In this work we focus on the relation of popular music genres and classical instruments. Using the database searching we find the lists of styles using each of the instruments of symphonic orchestra. For improvement of the understanding the relationship graphs are presented for each instrument. Resulting graphs are printed also for the whole groups of the classical instruments. For all the cases a short analysis of results is given and the styles representing some characteristic usage of the instrument are described in detail. The third chapter groups the experience of the stage performances including the overview of available instruments and technic of sound pickup and the question of incorporating the acoustic instruments to popular music performances is discussed. The last section of the main text describes an approach, which represents one of the ways of enhancing the artificial music by the musical elements characteristic for the popular genres.

Connections between breathing and playing string instruments
Kellerová, Anna ; ŽALUD, Radomír (advisor) ; HUDEC, Jiří (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I concentrate on the topic of relationship between breathing and various aspects of playing a string instrument. I approach the issue complexly, working with conditions that affect playing a string instrument as such and areas influencing the overall quality of life of an artist, and I search for their interrelations with breathing. The work consists of three major sections. The first chapter deals with the connection of breathing with physical aspects of playing a string instrument (position and movement by the instrument), the second is focused on the affect of breathing on psyche (especially the phenomenon of stage fright) and the third explores breathing in the context of musical expression. The work is based mainly on kinesiologic, psychological, musicologic and methodological literature, as well as on experts knowledge of special topics (obtained by means of personal consultation).
The study of the different percentage performance of nanoparticles on the properties of epoxy resin
Hudec, Jiří ; Neděla, Vilém ; Polsterová, H.
This paper deals with the study of impact of different percentage filling of nanoparticles on the electrical properties of epoxy resin, which has very good mechanical and electrical properties. The sample is the blended mixture which is evacuated, subjected to ultrasound and then cured. It is expected that the formation of lumps should be minimised due to the influence of microwaves. Nanoparticles should be equally distributed in epoxide volume for this case. Unfortunately, this assumption was not proven. The mixture contains an epoxy resin CY228, hardener HY918, softener DY045 and accelerator DY062. Nanoparticles of alumina (Al2O3), sulfur dioxide (SiO2), titanium dioxide (TiO2) and tungsten oxide (WO3) from Sigma Aldrich Company were used as a filler. There were made samples for each filler with 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2 weight percent for our experiment and were determined values of the dissipation factor tg.delta., permittivity .epsilon.r and resistivity .rho.v by measuring.
The Different Percentage Performance of Nanoparticles and their Effect on the Properties of Exposy Resin

The study deals with impact of different percentage filling of nanoparticles on the electrical properties of epoxy resin, which has very good mechanical and electrical properties. There were made samples for each filler with 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2 weight percent for our experiment and were determined values of the dissipation factor tgδ, permittivity εr and resistivity ρv by measuring. We are able to prepare samples with better electrical properties. Unfortunately, despite the advanced procedure of samples production, our main problem is the inhomogeneity of distribution of nanoparticles in the sample manifested by the formation of lumps. Scanning electron microscope REM Jeol JSM 6700F was used to detect lumps of nanoparticles. The lowest permittivity was encountered in the samples with the 2% filling of Al2O3 and SiO2, in the case of TiO2 it was 1%. In the samples containing Al2O3 a SiO2 the impact of the nanoparticles on the intrinsic resistivity is evident in the full temperature range. The highest intrinsic resistivity is in the sample with the 0.5% content of SiO2, apart from the sample with 0.5% of Al2O3 which has a lower resistivity than pure epoxide. The most pronounced improvement in electrical properties of the resulting nanocomposite was achieved by adding Al2O3 and SiO2. The influence of TiO2 was less obvious, and adding the nanoparticles of WO3 caused no change in any of the measured parameters.
Miloslav Gajdoš - The Pedagogical and Compositional Work
Heřman, Libor ; ŽALUD, Radomír (advisor) ; HUDEC, Jiří (referee)
The subject of this thesis is a life and work of Miloslav Gajdoš. At first it summarizes the students who passsed the contrabass class at Pavel Josef Vejvanovsky Conservatory in Kromeriz since 1971 to the present. Then the thesis discusses the music ( compositions) of Miloslav Gajdoš and it also includes a list of his compositions, which are classfied into categories according to the instrumental cast ( instrumentation).
Development of the double-bass bow and selection of material
Prokop, Jan ; Hudec, Jiří (advisor) ; Žalud, Radomír (referee) ; Bernášek, Václav (referee)
This very bachelor thesis treats the problematic of history development and usage of bows from their origins up until the modern bows of today. It should be common for those who play string instruments to acknowledge this basic case of bows. That was the main reason for me to complete this work. The main problem while studying this theme was the vital shortage of expert literature on such problem. I was forced to seek information elsewhere using personal research consulting with experts and bringing of mine own experiences.
Voříšek´s Vamberk - an effort to rediscover the composer´s significance in his native town
Bořková, Dagmar ; Hudec, Jiří (advisor) ; Žalud, Radomír (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (referee)
This work deals with the personality of the composer Jan Václav Hugo Voříšek in conjuction with the care of his musical legacy, in particular in Vamberk - his birthplace in Eastern Bohemia. From 1991 to 2008 a small-scale music festival was held there, entlited "Voříšek´s Vamberk", each year it acted as a reminder of the composer´s significance and dedicated several concerts to his memory. In relation to Voříšek as a professional organist, an organ competition unique in the Czech republic came into existence there, utilizing the historical mechanical instrument played in the past by Voříšek in the church of St. Procopius. The paper captures the birth of both music events, their evolution and the circumstances of their cessation. Each musical programme is presented in a separate chapter. In the view of the fact that the course of the individual year´s volumes is not filed in the municipal archive and the only publicly available records can be found in Jiří Lakmajer´s chronicles stored in the archive of the town of Rychnov nad Kněžnou, the aim of this work is to process, organize and assort the materials from the estate of Lubor Bořek, the founder of both significant events.
Jazz Double Bassists and Bass Guitarists of Miles Davis
Létalová, Veronika ; Hudec, Jiří (advisor) ; Žalud, Radomír (referee) ; Bernášek, Václav (referee)
The subject of my dissertation, for which I chose the title " Jazz Double Bassists and Bass Guitarists of Miles Davis" is an introducrion of one of the most outstanding musical personalities of the 20th century, the American jazz trumpet player, composer and leader of several music bands, Miles Davis. In addition, eight of the most important double bass and bass guitar players, who cooperated with Miles in his bands throughout the almost fifty years of his career, are being introduced. In the opening of my thesis, I pay attention to my reasons for choosing Miles Davis as the subject of my study. Next I proceed to describing in great detail his personality and individual life stages, including both personal and professional life. In the following chapters I briefly summarize the characteristics of the individual double bassists and bass guitarists, that Miles chose to engage in his bands and projects, and with whom he then realized his recordings. I present their biographies, discographies as well as I describe the characteristics of their playing.I complement the text with a collection CD with musical excerpts that are typical for the individual players. I also mention these in the text. The CD is a part of my dissertation. I conclude the whole paper with a summary, acknowledgments, and a list of used literature and web addresses. plus a complete list of recordings that I used for the excerpts.
