The work deals with the valuation of a holiday cottage according to the previous valuation regulations and subsequently according to the present valuation regulation. In the chapters deal with individual valuation periods, description of a specific holiday cottage, valuation of the land, description of the locality. Easements are also part of the work. Valuation of a holiday cottage is done through practice expert’s reports drawn up for the second, third and present valuation periods. In the annex are available documents related to legal and construction developments of holiday cottage.

This thesis presents an annotated translation of four short stories written by the American author Nathaniel Hawthorne and consists of two parts. The practical part presents a translation of the short stories "John Inglefield's Thanksgiving," "Fancy's Show Box," "Sylph Etherege" and "The Haunted Mind." The theoretical part of the thesis first offers some information about Nathaniel Hawthorne and the reception of his work both in the source and the target culture. It characterizes the thematic and stylistic aspects of the chosen short stories and presents an analysis of the source text and the chosen method of translation. Finally, it comments on the translation problems and shifts which occurred during the translation process.
Mental Illness In The Works Of Edgar Allan Poe

1 Abstract The focus of this thesis aims at mental illness in the works of Edgar Allan Poe, their incorporation in his short stories and their function as a means of inducing of horror in the reader. It will be attempted to establish a typology of madness based upon the insane characters from eight of Poe's stories. These stories, chosen for their clear depiction of mentally deranged characters, are "The Black Cat," "The Cask of Amontillado," "Ligeia," "Eleonora," "Berenice," "The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "William Wilson." This thesis will consist of four main parts with a small additional chapter dedicated to the life of Edgar Allan Poe, since the author's life experience is also important for the understanding and appreciating of his work. Chapter 1 will focus on Poe's narrators in the stories "Eleonora" and "Ligeia." Their insanity, stemming from love, passion and loss, and especially from a vain attempt to achieve the ideal of beauty manifests in their later depression or drug addiction. In essence, the characters are driven mad by unhappy love. Chapter 2 will show the physical manifestation of madness into murder.
