Prenatal factors influencing the development of asthma in children
Hanáková, Zdenka ; Jílek, Petr (advisor) ; Kudláčková, Zděnka (referee)
The questionnaire involved 2050 children, among them 25,2 % were classified as allergics, on the contrary 37,3 % answerers did not state any circumstances related to the occurrence of allergy - they were classified as non-allergics and were considered control group. The courses of pregnancies of mothers of allergic and non- allergic children were compared. We found statistically significant higher prevalence of allergies in children, whose mothers spent a part of gravidity in the regimen of risk pregnancy, reported febrile period(s) during 1st and 2nd trimester, suffered from urinary tract infection or experienced eczema. Higher prevalence of allergy was found in children, whose mothers (during pregnancy) used antibiotic, paracetamol. Mothers of allergics more frequently mentioned hyperemesis gravidarum, or markedly reduced physical activities. As a risk factor for allergy we found also prolonged pregnancy. Contrariwise, no significant effect on child's allergy had: sectio Caesarea, extremely low o high neonatal weight, diet of mother during pregnancy, genital infection in the gravidity, BMI of mother as well as the weight increase in the pregnancy.
