Pavilion for Modern Arts

The assignment of my degree work was a proposal of two variants of the steel structure of a modern art exhibition hall. The ground plan dimensions of the structure are 52,5 x 24 m. The whole structure of the two variants is supported by two quadrilateral truss columns and the upper floor level is at a height of 8 m above the ground. The ceiling structure is set by the truss girders. The proposal of two alternative solutions and the assessment of the main structure support elements forms another part of the work. With a winning option then a solution of the selected details, working out of the detailed drawings of the solved joints and the creation of the workshop documentation of the selected parts is supposed.

The submitton of my thesis was to design a load carving structure for the exhibitional purposes of a museum. The plan of the structure is 18 x 30 m with the distance of the main frames of 6 m. The beight of the main frames is variable. The building consists of plate columns and a bent plate-shaped foof girder. The work includes: the validaion of the main structural elements, solution of some chosen details, elaboration of detailed drawings of the used connections (joints).
Phenomenon of Wall in International Relations

The theme of this master's thesis is the phenomenon of wall in international relations, the aim of the following text is to analyze the selected border walls and their impact on international relations. The first chapter deals with theoretical concepts which are necessary for the analysis such as border and border wall. The second chapter analyzes historical border walls which are considered relevant - Great Wall of China, Hadrian´s Wall, Czechoslovak border fortifications and Berlin Wall. The third part focuses on current border walls as US-Mexican wall, Ceuta and Melilla border walls and Israeli West-Bank barrier. Finally, the aim of the epilogue is to outline the problem of "wall in the head".

The Phenomenon of the Berlin Wall in the International Relations

The theme of this thesis is the phenomenon of the Berlin Wall and its impact on the international relations. Its aim is to analyze the position of the German metropolis Berlin in the context of the Cold War struggle between the USA and the USSR. The first chapter deals with the characteristic features of the Cold War and the specifics of the German area, which played a significant part in the following periods. The second chapter focuses on the post-war status of Berlin and the development of the policies of the four occupying powers as well as on the significance of the first Berlin crisis, which was an important landmark of this period. The third chapter analyzes the events leading to the building of the Berlin Wall and primarily its importance and particular consequences, furthermore it concentrates on the development of the situation until the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany.
