Tématem této bakalářské práce je fenomén Berlínské zdi a jeho dopad na mezinárodní vztahy. Jejím cílem je analyzovat pozici německé metropole Berlína v kontextu studené války a soupeření Spojených států amerických a Sovětského svazu. První kapitola se zabývá charakteristickými znaky studené války a specifiky německého prostoru, které sehrály v následujících obdobích zásadní roli. Druhá kapitola se týká již poválečného postavení Berlína a vývoje politik čtyř okupačních velmocí, dále také významu 1. berlínské krize, která byla důležitým mezníkem tohoto období. Třetí kapitola pak analyzuje nejprve události vedoucí ke stavbě Berlínské zdi, především však jejím význam a konkrétní důsledky, a zabývá se také vývojem situace až do pádu Berlínské zdi a znovusjednocení Německa. The theme of this thesis is the phenomenon of the Berlin Wall and its impact on the international relations. Its aim is to analyze the position of the German metropolis Berlin in the context of the Cold War struggle between the USA and the USSR. The first chapter deals with the characteristic features of the Cold War and the specifics of the German area, which played a significant part in the following periods. The second chapter focuses on the post-war status of Berlin and the development of the policies of the four occupying powers as well as on the significance of the first Berlin crisis, which was an important landmark of this period. The third chapter analyzes the events leading to the building of the Berlin Wall and primarily its importance and particular consequences, furthermore it concentrates on the development of the situation until the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany.
