The Analysis of Tony Blair's Foreign Policy towards Sierra Leone
Hájková, Zuzana ; Kasáková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Váška, Jan (referee)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyse process of British foreign policy towards Sierra Leone in period since 1997 to 2000. This paperwork particularly answers the question if British approach to Sierra Leone was in harmony with new rhetoric of the Labour Party, which wanted to build a foreign policy on "ethical dimension". Sierra Leone has been locked in civil war since 1991, in which Great Britain officially supported legally elected president Kabbah, whose governance was threaten by the rebels of the Revolutionary United Front. Great Britain intervened in May 2000, when the capital city of Sierra Leone was directly endangered. The paperwork explores in detail, which factors and which participants influenced Blair's policy towards Sierra Leone.
Structural basis of cell invasion
Hrčkulák, Dušan ; Novotný, Marian (advisor) ; Hájková, Zuzana (referee)
Mezenchymal migration strategy is a mode of individual cell invasion, along with an ameboid migration strategy. It is dependent on cell adhesion structures formation and traction forces generation. This work is focused on integrin-mediated cell to extracellular matrix connections called focal adhesions. Focal adhesions are very complex and comprise of many proteins. The clusters of integrin dimers make up the focal adhesion core that binds extracellular matrix. Their intracellular domains indirectly interact with actin stress fibres throught plaque proteins talin and vinculin. Focal adhesion assembly is force dependent and its commponents turnover is also regulated by focal adhesion kinase and prolin-rich tyrosin kinase 2. These kinases are probably recruited to focal adhesions by paxillin and then linked to signaling complexes by adaptor proteins as p130Cas. The 3D structure is what defines the options of interaction among participating proteins. Therefore, this work summarizes 3D structures of six proteins of interest, deals with their interactions and impact on focal adhesions. PDB codes of all available structures of these six proteins are enclosed.
The effect of the mast cell activation on the microtubule organisation
Hájková, Zuzana ; Dráber, Pavel (advisor) ; Binarová, Pavla (referee)
The activation of bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMCs) induces a number of cell processes such as degranulation, proliferation and cytoskeleton rearrangements. Although microtubules are important in these processes, molecular mechanisms that control changes in microtubule organisation during cell activation are unknown. Activation of BMMCs can be achieved in several ways. Under physiological conditions, the aggregation of IgE receptors (FcRI) on the surface of BMMCs leads to the initiation of specific signaling pathways. Cells can be also activated nonspecifically by a tyrosine phosphatase inhibitor pervanadate, or by thapsigargin that inhibits Ca2+ ATPase pumps located on the endoplasmic reticulum. In this diploma thesis it was found out that rapid morphological changes can be monitored when BMMC are immobilised on the fibronectin before their activation. It was proved that specific and nonspecific activation events lead to microtubule reorganization, as well as to generation of a large number of microtubule-dependent protrusions. In the course of FcRI aggregation, generation of microtubule protrusions depends on the activity of Src family protein tyrosine kinases and on the intracellular Ca2+ concentration. STIM1, an endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ sensor, which participates in the activation of...
The poetry in Czech sign language
Hájková, Zuzana ; Šůchová, Lucie (advisor) ; Macurová, Alena (referee)
The theme of this bachelor's work is analysis of the poetry in czech sign language (ČZJ). It can be useful for linguists who are concerned with czech sign language but also for the general public. This work is supporting the fact that czech sign language is a real language as the spoken language is, because of the evidence of art signing, especially the existence of the poetry in czech sign language. The aim of this bachelor's work is also to overcome the prejudice against czech sign language that are still existing till nowadays. Examples of sign language poetry can be seen on DVD which is attached to this work. The author of this bachelor's work discusses the question of the production the poetry in czech sign language and tries to compare it with the production of spoken language poetry (in its oral and also in the written form); explains the history of czech sign language poetry and the foreign sign language poetry. In this bachelor's work is also a short chapter that concerns of the comparation between the music, poetry and strorytelling. The main part of the work is characteristics of the sign language poetry and its dividing into the general types. As a conclusion, you can see a deep analysis of the two poems - one performed by JAMU (Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno), the second...
Business plan for contemporary dance company
Hájková, Zuzana ; KUBIŠTA, Štěpán (advisor) ; TOMANOVÁ, Jaroslava (referee)
This thesis deals with small dance company's business plan process options focusing on effectiveness and simplicity. The thesis offers views on two approaches of strategic planning. The classic one by Michael Kaiser and the second one - Business Model Canvas tool - not so developed in this particular domain. This tool is used in other fields all around the world for creating, reviewing, innovating and presenting business models. The aim of this thesis is to describe and compare this two approaches. A case study is also included in the thesis, verifying implementation of Business Model Canvas for independent dance company special needs.  The thesis is based on premise that the business plans of independent dace companies are often inadequate and for gaining strong partners or donors the ability to form and present an intelligible and confident vision is crucial.
