Community-crare as a set of communication tools and methods in working with vulnerable children and families in Great Britain and in the Czech Republic

This thesis constitutes an analysis and instructions for use of the Communi-crate resources, the 'communication crate' which is a set of specific practical tools used in working with vulnerable children and families as used in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and are being introduced in practice in the Czech Republic. The tools contained in this thesis are designed for use by special educators and social workers in direct work with vulnerable families, children, young persons, or even adults. All of these tools have actually been tested and proven in practice and some have been adapted from their original language versions for use in the Czech Republic. In this thesis, the resources contained in the Communi-crate are divided into logical groups and each of them is described structured into chapters accordingly. Each tool is described in more or less detail, including tips for use. Most resources are also illustrated. The case studies described have been collected from practice in the Czech Republic and in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. European investment policy as an exclusive competence of the EU

This thesis explores a new competence of the investment policy Union conferred upon the European Union by the Lisbon treaty. The reform of the primary legislation in 2009 incorporated foreign direct investment among the components of the Common Commercial Policy. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse this new component, to describe the means of its execution and to discuss the European investment policy in the context of European law. This research aims to be an introduction to this topic in the Czech academia as it is a very topical issue due to the ongoing negotiations with the United States on a free trade agreement including an investment chapter. The thesis is composed of three chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of the European investment policy. The first two parts are more of a theoretical nature, whereas the last part is a practical demonstration of the policy results in the form of negotiated agreements. Chapter One is introductory and acquaints the reader with the systematics of the Common Commercial Policy in the section of External action in the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU, its aims and principles and the scope of the newly conferred exclusive competence. The development of the Single Market as the trigger for deeper Integration and the strengthening of the European Union position

This thesis deals with the process of development and completing of the EU single market. It analysis whether the development of the EU market deepens the integration in other than economical areas of the European integration and how does this process influence and improves the position of EU as an actor of international relations. The thesis compares two chosen period of time -- from 1985 to 1993 and from 2007/8 to present, and looks for such a model of EU integration development. In the chosen periods the analyse of strategic documents The White Paper on Completing the Internal Market and the Single Market acts is done. These documents are perceived as the triggers of the political integration deepening. Finally the development and state of EC/EU actorness is examined by a theory of four basic dimension of actorness taking into account its different sources. The conclusion of the thesis confirms or disproves the presented model of integration and compares the two chosen periods.
Burqa ban - manifestation of islamophobia. Case study of France

In autumn 2010 France enacted a legal ban on concealment of the face in public. The veiling of Muslim women affected by the law became a delicate topic of debates in the French society. This paper analyzes the enacted law in relation to the phenomenon called Islamophobia. It offers a deeper look at the headscarf affair and deals closely with the process of enactment of the law.
