Francie na podzim 2010 přijala zákon, který zakazuje maskování obličeje na veřejnosti. Zahalování muslimských žen, na které především zákon míří, se ukázalo být ožehavým tématem debat ve francouzské společnosti. Tato práce analyzuje přijatou normu ve vztahu k fenoménu zvaný islamofobie. Poskytuje čtenáři širší obrázek o vývoji tzv. šátkové aféry a detailně se věnuje procesu přijímání daného zákona. In autumn 2010 France enacted a legal ban on concealment of the face in public. The veiling of Muslim women affected by the law became a delicate topic of debates in the French society. This paper analyzes the enacted law in relation to the phenomenon called Islamophobia. It offers a deeper look at the headscarf affair and deals closely with the process of enactment of the law.
