Fialková, Andrea ; Lebeda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Brunclík, Miloš (referee) ; Cabada, Ladislav (referee)
This master thesis is focused on current situation in Bosnia and Hercegovina, mainly on its implemented consociational democracy and its influence in politic and party system and electoral process. First the concrete approach is explained followed by description of political institutions and analysis of election law where the local specifics are emphasised. The most important part after description of parties is the analysis of their activities before and during elections. Comparison of their election results and specifics of concrete elections helps me to decide if the implemented consociational democracy was/is the right way to end the conflict in the country and to anticipate the future progress there. Second part is devoted to juristic concept. Last part is focused on economical and political status, mainly to subjects, for which is language question primary topic. Basic question of thesis is: How the position of Swedish minority has changed? Thesis also verifies following hypothesis: Escalation of conflicts is based on Swedish tendencies of centralization of power; political and juristic status of Swedish minority weakens because of decreasing Swedish-speaking citizens number.
