The diploma thesis Karlovy Vary as a News Topic in ČT24 Broadcasting is de- voted to regional news from the city of Karlovy Vary, broadcasted in the news programs of the public service news channel ČT24 in 2019, 2020 and 2021, i.e. in the period before the Covid-19 outbreak and during it. The theoretical part at first presents the city of Karlovy Vary not only geographically, but also culturally and partly historically. Subsequently, it describes and analyzes regional reporting and also the undoubted ambiguity of this term. The last chapter of this part introduces the reader to the history of the news channel ČT24, its program schedule, etc. In the practical part of the thesis, space is devoted to mixed re- search - quantitative content analysis and description of the most frequently appearing news topics from the Karlovy Vary area in the news broadcasted on ČT24. The work as part of a qualitative research also uses semi-structured interview method. The research results are evaluated in the final chapter of the work. The work includes attachments - questions for the interview and at the same time a transcript of the entire interview with former regional reporter Jevhenija Vachničenko.
