Ancient Constellations as a cultural Phaenomenon
Juřina, Petr ; Bouzek, Jan (advisor) ; Charvát, Petr (referee) ; Dufková, Marie (referee)
The firm connection of the heavenly constellations with characters and passages from Greek mythology is earned above all Aratus of Soloi, a Hellenistic poet from the time of Ptolemy II. His didactic poem Phainomena ("Phenomena in the sky") reached such popularity in its time that it lived to be translated into Latin several times and its contents became a firm part of the heritage of European civilization. The beginnings of the entire system of dividing the heavens into 48 parts, go back to a much older period. Astronomy has reliably brought forth evidence that the root of these heavenly "parcels" has its origins in the Near East 7.000-6.000 years ago. These conclusions of exact sciences also help confirm indications seen in the last while in various social-scientific disciplines. We find reflections of this ancient tradition in cosmological-astronomical (astrological) aspects of ancient cultures, or in paleoastronomical constructions of many archaeologically found features of prehistoric Europe.

Dufková, Marie ; Horáček, Vít (advisor) ; Patěk, Daniel (referee)
The Comparative Advertising - development of regulation in the Czech legal order Resumé My thesis analyzes the legal regulation of the comparative advertising in the Czech Republic. It deals not only with the current legislation, but it looks at the historical development and future perspectives too. The goal of my thesis is to provide a thorough guide to the development of its legal regulation within the particular eras of the Czech history, describe different approaches of legislators, judges and professionals, and eventually, I try to evaluate the current situation and draw conclusions. At the very beginning after my introduction I put a short chapter containing a few words about the term "comparative advertising" itself and about the different types of comparative advertising. Then, in the following chapter I chronologically address the issues of legal legislation in the history of the Czech Republic: the first part is dedicated to the time period of so called "First Republic" and its Law on protection against unfair competition and its vast judicature. The second part is concerned with the socialist era in our history, the complete rejection of the economic competition as such and the logical decline in the interest in the unfair competition legislation. The last two parts of this chapter mention the...

Ancient Jewellery of Central Asia and its relations to the Jewellers' art of Ancient Mediterranean.

Central Asia, crossroads of ancient trade routes known as the Silk Road, absorbed for centuries the pulses of travelling cultural influences and created an environment for the existence of original artistic expression, which can be seen in jewellery making as well. The dissertation thesis deals with analysis of the findings from excavation units and individual pieces of jewellery, in most cases made of gold, which were often largely inspired by the culture of the ancient Mediterranean. The historical - geographic perspective of the work is focused primarily on territory of ancient Bactria and Gandhara - southern part of the former Soviet republics of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, then northern and eastern Afghanistan and northern Pakistan. These areas were in the past centers of military activities and political formations, followed up in many aspects on the Mediterranean traditions. These political formations contributed distinctly to the dissemination and preservation of some elements of ancient cultural heritage in Central Asian architecture, sculpture and other fine arts and crafts. Most jewelry findings come from a fairly turbulent period of the 1st century AD, when the territory of Central Asia saw the progressive formation of Kushan Empire. The main part of the thesis consists of summary of the...
