Differentiation of Local Elites Stability in Municipalities and Micro-regions in the South Bohemia Region

The aim of this bachelor thesis is internal differentiation of South Bohemia region. Mainly this work is considering possibilities of rating the regional differentiation of rural areas in terms of stability of local elites and to attest newly created methodology of rating the stability of local elites in the region. Based on this rating was found that in the model area of South Bohemia region the stability of local elites is territorially differentiated in dichotomy of continually developing inland versus borderland inhabited after the second world war. The main result of this work is relationship of differentiation of local elites with settlement structure. Differentiation of regional identities in Karlovy Vary region Abstract This study deals with regional identity in Karlovy Vary region. This region is suitable for research of relation its inhabitants to domiciliary region regarding its border location and its history (expulsion of Germans and population exchange after World War II). The main aims are to analyze how inhabitants perceive their belonging to the Karlovy Vary region with an attention paid to individual developmental types of regions. Historical and geographical case studies on the development of the area and sites with road Prague - Brandýs nad Labem - Stará Boleslav

- The goal of this study is to have a look on the historic path as an important factor, which locating socioeconomic nature of certain activities at different times in the neighborhood, and see how these activities modify or change in terms of contemporary circumstances and local geography. Thus, how this path affected areas near the surrounding landscape, which brings together over two sites in the pre-industrial period, during the industrial revolution and also at the time of transformation - the present time. In each of the three chapters, an attention devoted within a defined period of specific activity. In pre-industrial period, special attention was devoted to the contemporary conditions and capabilities of inns and wholesalers of agricultural output, for the period of the industrial revolution a location of the food industry was anticipated and in the chapter of the present time the aim was to bring urban sprawl in terms of monitored communities. During the task all available information obtained from the cited sources and interviews to create a comprehensive picture of the phenomenon observed in a given period and formulate a conclusion on the proposed hypothesis were compared. The Integration of Marginal Regions into the Regional System: the Case of the Brdy Military Training Area

5 Abstract This thesis is focused on description of marginal areas in Czechia and possibilities their reintegration to the regional system. Among marginal areas as places excluded in some way (for example economically) from the regional system, belongs military areas (in czech conditions). The first part of thesis deals with selected theoretical-methodological framework of the spatial polarization research, which is aimed on clarification of the concept "marginality" and the topic of inner peripheries. In the following empirical part, selected theoretical and methodological concepts are applied to the model area Brdy military base and municipalities in its neighbourhood. On the base of selected socioeconomic indicators conditions for the development of four types of capital (natural, man-made, human and social) are evaluated in the case study. Their relationship with the spatial polarization process is also discussed in this context. Peripheral areas with low development potential are defined implicitly. This thesis is also focused on the role of administration and other stakeholders in the process of conversion and future use of Brdy military training area. Regional aspects of transformational development of the German federal states

výsledky, představuje časté téma odborných diskusí, i když převážně v rámci ekonomické obce. Podobně je tomu v případě komparace použitých strategií a privatizačních metod. Pozoruhodné však je, že v české odborné literatuře je poněkud opomíjen příklad transformace východoněmecké ekonomiky, pravděpodobně pro její unikátní podmínky. V rámci transformačního procesu, který se vyznačoval obrovskými náklady, byla pak věnována jen minimální pozornost jeho regionálním (geografickým) aspektům. Monografie zabývající se transformačním procesem z tohoto pohledu se objevují až od poloviny 90. let minulého století (Pohl 2002, Blien, Wolf 2001, Moravcová 2000, Niebuhrová 1999, Eckart 1998, Bosch 1995). Průběh ekonomické transformace nových spolkových zemí Německa a s ní souvisejících dopadů na německé hospodářství je v SRN stále jedno z často diskutovaných témat. V současnosti - ve světle nepříznivé ekonomické situace nejen východní části země, ale i Německa jako celku -již jednoznačně převažuje negativní hodnocení přijaté šokové transformační strategie. Je také zřejmé, že u vědomí těch nejvýznamnějších sociálně ekonomických (i politických) konsekvencí nezdařilé transformace jsou otázky regionálního vývoje vnímány jako druhořadé. Přesto není nezajímavé se jimi, zejména ve srovnání s vývojem v jiných transitivních...
Potential of Regional Development of inner Peripheries of Czechia: case study the Příbram Region

This thesis discusses issues of inner peripheries of Czechia. Inner periphery is an inland territory which leaves behind its surroundings in a specific way (for example economically). The first part of the thesis discusses selected theoretical and methodological concepts of the spatial polarisation research. In following empirical part, selected theoretical and methodological concepts are apllied to model area of the Příbram region. On the basis of selected socioeconomic and positional characteristics problematic areas are identified. Consequently their development after 1989 is evaluated. In next parts of thesis, selected conditions for the development of four types of capital (natural, man-made, human and social capital) in the identified problematic areas and their relation to the spatial polarisation are evaluated. Z. Kučera: Principy a problémy geografického studia krajiny 6 Abstrakt Principy a problémy geografického studia krajiny Krajina je jedním z klíčových geografických konceptů. Nicméně její definici nelze považovat za zcela ujasněnou a stává se proto předmětem diskuze. Současný geografický výzkum krajiny je výrazněji rozdělený mezi humánní a fyzickou geografii, resp. přesněji kulturní geografii a krajinnou ekologii. Obě tyto disciplíny se dnes v geografii rozvíjejí, byť třeba v odlišných geografických a oborových kontextech. V otázce definice krajiny však spolu velmi málo komunikují. V posledních desetiletích se krajina navíc stala vedle geografie součástí výzkumného zaměření mnoha dalších vědeckých oborů. Což je vývoj, který k vyjasněnosti její definice příliš nepřispívá. V práci je diskutována role geografie ve výzkumu krajiny, jsou srovnávána různá pojetí krajiny v geografii a učiněn pokus o formulaci souhrnné definice krajiny. Nakolik se diskutované přístupy doplňují či rozcházejí? Jsou neslučitelné, nebo je možné vymezit jednu geografickou disciplínu zvanou "geografie krajiny"? Formation and maintenance the identity of Slovak migrants in the former Hungarian Kingdom from 1711 to present: Case study Báčsky Petrovec

The thesis dissertates about Slovak minority in the former Hungarian Kingdom, focusing on the Slovak minority in Báčsky Petrovec. Slovak minority is located in the following countries: Hungary, Serbian Vojvodina, Croatia, Romania. Research is done in four dimensions: the historical-geographic, dimension focussing the current state of the formation and maintenance of Slovak identity and inquiry which was made in Slovak community in Báčsky Petrovec and with Serbs in Novi Sad. The aim is to provide a comprehensive analysis of social and cultural situation of the Slovaks in the successor countries of former Hungarian Kingdom, where Slovak immigrants flowed after the defeat of the OttomanEmpire, mainly from 17th to 19th century. Two issues are presented: regions where there was a significant Slovak minority and the situation of the Slovak minority in these regions over time. The most important regions which retain Slovaks to present time are South Backa and South Banat in Vojvodina, Pilis Mountains, Békés county and Beech Mountains in Hungary and Bihor Mountains in Romania. According to the latest census the Slovak nationality in these areas was declared by 96.3 thousand people, but it is not even half of the original number of Slovaks in present area of Hungary a hundred years ago.
