Use copywriting during optimization of online stores
Tomčík, Martin ; Burkoň, Lukáš (advisor) ; Meisner, Tomáš (referee)
This dissertation is focused on copywriting or writing advertising content for online stores. Its main objective is to create instructions for writing successful text for online stores based on synthesis. Simultaneously, another aim of my dissertation is to use these findings in copywriting for selected e-shops. Both theoretical and practical parts are based on professional resources and my own experiences with copywriting beginning in 2006. This document is structured in three main parts. In the first part, I focus on theoretical recommendations for writing advertising content. In addition to creating product descriptions, this chapter deals with the preparation of texts for categories, home pages, shipping and payment sections, about us pages, articles and microcopy. In the next chapter, I describe measuring and evaluating the performance of advertising texts for online stores. The third part is devoted to the application of theoretical knowledge and to writing texts for selected eshops, including an evaluation of their success. Thanks to the selected structure, this dissertation covers almost all issues of copywriting for eshops. Chapters are structured in the same way as my usual copywriting process. I believe that my dissertation will become a useful knowledge resource for beginners and advanced copywriters, Internet marketing experts and online store owners. Selected parts of my dissertation are enhanced by my own experience, knowledge and demonstration examples. Most of them can be found on real company websites and online stores. Also, I continually refer to related resources that may be useful for every reader with deeper interest in this issue.
Methodology of REST API design
Koudelka, Jakub ; Burkoň, Lukáš (advisor) ; Jansa, Václav (referee)
This work deals with an analysis and design of application programming interface (API) within the architectural style known as REST (Representational State Transfer). Sample application was implemented by following these proposals.
Catalogization of RESTful webservices
Koch, Ondřej ; Burkoň, Lukáš (advisor) ; Jansa, Václav (referee)
Currently there is a lot of enterprise middleware platforms based on SOAP-oriented webservices. However common message oriented middleware does not fully satisfy the need of integration small to middle sized services keeping the expenses reasonably low. The main goal of this thesis is to provide the analysis, and achitecture of a catalog for REST based webservices and to provide implementation at least for the purpose of practical examples. This catalog should enable it's users the publication of REST webservices, their categorization, searching, sharing and providing metainformation and therefore providing support for the deployment process, propagation, maintanance and further development and therefore lead to higher standarization of these services. The system should be percieved as a proof of concept of support system of a RESTful MOM.
Comparison of Zend and Nette Frameworks
Olišar, Petr ; Mittner, Jan (advisor) ; Burkoň, Lukáš (referee)
This thesis is focused on presentation and comparison of Zend and Nette frameworks in their latest versions, which were available on 29 November. This is achieved by 2 ways: using the public sources and writing out 2 almost the same web aplications using Nette and Zend frameworks. The main output of the thesis is comparison of qualities of the two frameworks, which is based on undertaken measurements. The work has 3 sections. The first section introduces us with a method, which was used to compare frameworks, then with metrics and scoring of each criterion. The introduction of Zend and Nette framework and MVC pattern can be found in second section. The last section is crucial, it finally copares Zend and Nette framework.
Development of PHP applications on the Microsoft Azure Platform
Veselý, Tomáš ; Burkoň, Lukáš (advisor) ; Juřek, Michael (referee)
Windows Azure Platform is product of the Microsoft company aimed to host web applications. With this product, Microsoft is reacting on the new trend in IT -- cloud computing. This diploma thesis deals with all the aspects of developing and running PHP applications on Windows Azure Platform. Thesis is divided into two parts -- theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, Windows Azure Platform is described in detail. The description consists of it's main parts, position in the world of cloud computing, price and main competitors. In the practical part, migration of school PHP application developed during 4IT445 course from LAMP platform to Windows Azure Platform is described. Except the migration itself, the benefits of new platform to application are described. In the thesis conclusion, development and running applications on both platforms is compared. The target of the thesis is to write first complete Czech text about running PHP applications on Windows Azure Platform and to help PHP developers to chose which way to go.
Hyperlocal level use of internet media in practice
Kvapil, Hynek ; Burkoň, Lukáš (advisor) ; Horný, Stanislav (referee)
This diploma thesis is concerned with the use of the internet on local scale. The theoretical part aims to analyze the problems of the internet use at the local level. This part will take into account important factors affecting the functioning of such projects as the behavior of users, typologies of applications possible for implementation and future trends. Next theoretical part will cover the principles and possibilities of using web 2.0 technologies in such projects. The practical part will include an analysis of selected territories, the specification of web application and the implementation of such hyperlocal web project on the town Jičín using web 2.0. The final part of the thesis will include evaluation of the project due to the theoretical part and possible future development of implemented hyperlocal web application project.
Platform-as-a-Service for running PHP applications
Pilař, Štěpán ; Mittner, Jan (advisor) ; Burkoň, Lukáš (referee)
There are numerous web applications written in PHP language, most of whose requirements exceed common shared hosting offerings. This work deals with using Platform-as-a-Service solutions for running PHP applications. The advantages and disadvantages of PHP Platform-as-a-Service solutions are discussed in the first part of this work along with their effect on applications' architecture. The middle part compares available platforms with regard to their properties, functions and price models. The last part illustrates steps that have to be taken in order to accommodate applications' code for running in a cloud environment, moreover it demonstrates some of the advantages of cloud based web applications. The contribution of this work is in summarizing different aspects of cloud based PHP applications and a demonstration of running such an application.
Database abstraction layers for PHP
Ježek, David ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Burkoň, Lukáš (referee)
The goal and benefit of the bachelor's thesis is explanation what the database abstraction layers are and what advantages and disadvantages they bring, and comparison of most commonly used database abstraction layers for PHP. The thesis can be a basis for deciding whether to use a database abstraction layer in a project, eventually which one to choose. It may also be a guide for programmers who want to start working with database abstraction layers.
Categorization of SaaS applications
Moravec, Martin ; Burkoň, Lukáš (advisor) ; Žamberský, Martin (referee)
The main contribution of this work is a summary of best practices in designing and creating categorization of SaaS services, aggregating elements of current solutions and author's own proposals for their enrichment. A side benefit is creation of a specific categorization of services and illustrative catalog based on that categorization. The work consists of six chapters divided into two main parts. Preliminary first two chapters, forming the theoretical part, are devoted to defining and describing the problem with the introduction of the notion of SaaS and its strengths and weaknesses. The third chapter describes the current approaches to the topic. The following is a description and analysis of available solutions to the problem. Next chapter is devoted to best practices and approaches in the design and creation of each new categorization. In the last two chapters, forming the practical part, author offers an example of catalog driven by particular categorization based on the knowledge gained in previous chapters and provides evidence of the usefulness and applicability of categorization by creating and filling this catalog with services that fits in. The conclusion is devoted to a summary of the basic knowledge acquired in the work and view of the future in the field of the SaaS categorization.
