The influence of absent father on romantic relationships in men
Hynek, Antonín ; Štěrbová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Bosman, Dita (referee)
Father absence during childhood and adolescence can have a significant impact on sexual maturation and on intimate relationships. As the specifics of sexual maturation and partner relationships differ between the sexes, it is important to examine the impact of father absence separately for men and women. The aim of this paper is to present the current state of knowledge on the impact of father absence on intimate relationships. Most research to date has focused on women, so this paper will focus on men. The theoretical part presents life-history theory as a theoretical framework to explain the variability in reproductive strategies depending on environmental conditions. Subsequently, sexual maturation and the environmental influences that affect it are described, as the timing of sexual maturation has implications for intimate relationships. The next section focuses on intimate relationships, specifically the impact of father absence on mating strategies and on relationship satisfaction. The aim of the research design is to test hypotheses about the effects of father absence and father relationship quality on the timing of sexual maturation, sociosexuality, and partner satisfaction in men. The results of previous studies are severely limited; therefore, possible directions for future research are...
Principles and origin of body oriented psychotherapy
Křičková, Kristýna ; Červinková, Monika (advisor) ; Bosman, Dita (referee)
The literary review part of this thesis focuses on selected body-mind principles that are relevant for body work in psychotherapy, both in the context of body oriented psychotherapy and beyond. Working with the body within psychotherapy is a relatively new approach, but the practices and techniques from which this approach draws and builds upon often have a long tradition. With increasing scientific knowledge, it is now possible to understand much better why and how they work. This thesis illustrates the context and dynamics of the social turn in thought that accompanies the exploration of these mechanisms. The thesis thus presents these basic and supporting principles of body-mind connection in light of the new paradigm of holistic health care and places them in a broader cultural context by highlighting how these principles figure in Eastern traditions, where a different mind-set prevails than in modern Western society. The thesis builds on the literature review by proposing a research project that involves extending the SPECS practical questionnaire to the Czech context. The research aim is to map the awareness of practicing psychotherapists of body-mind principles through reflection on the work with the questionnaire and accompanying qualitative research methods. Keywords body oriented...

Dobrá, Veronika ; Štěrbová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Bosman, Dita (referee)
Attachment plays a significant role in partner relationships. It can enter into their establishment, maintenance and break-up. Since a partner relationship is usually made up of two individuals, it is important to take into account the type of attachment of both the individual and his or her partner, as well as the mutual similarity of the partners. The aim of this paper is to present the current state of knowledge on the influence of actor-partner attachment and their similarity on self-disclosure and satisfaction in partner relationships. The first chapter introduces the concept of attachment, specifically its types, ontogeny, and role in partner relationships. The second chapter is devoted to assortative matching, particularly partner similarity in selected characteristics with an emphasis on attachment, and the possible effects of the degree of partner similarity on the quality of their relationship. The following chapter presents the relationship between attachment and partner relationship satisfaction. The fourth chapter presents the state of current knowledge regarding attachment and self-disclosure. The purpose of the proposed research is to test the relative importance of an individual's attachment, his or her partner's attachment, and the mutual similarity in attachment between the two...
