Positions in emergency medicine are endangered by increased chance of long-term stress and burnout syndrome. These risks, which are inseparable from their professions, can result in increased consumption of addictive substances. Employees of emergency operations centres are one of these risk groups, hypothesised to have increased drug consumption in comparison to general public. The goal of this thesis was investigation of drug consumption among emergency operations centres personnel and determination of addictive substances and the amounts being used. The second goal was to confirm hypothesis about connection between burn out syndrome and drug use. Data were gained through questionnaire survey which was implemented online in 11 Czech emergency medical services in the first half of the year 2019. 25 % (88 respondents) of asked employees took part in this research. Results show, that emergency operations centres personnel most frequently use tobacco and alcohol, the amount is bigger than the amount used by general public. Comparison of Czech translations of drama Three Sisters by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov
Švarcová, Barbora ; Kosáková, Hana (advisor) ; Stranz-Nikitina, Veronika (referee)
This bachelor thesis's theme is a comparison of Czech translations of one of the most significant play by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov - Three Sisters. This thesis is prefaced with an interpretation of the whole drama, which is supplemented with reflections by literary scientists from the Czech Republic, Russia and Great Britain. Different translation solutions which were applied by chosen Czech translators during the last and our century are analysed in the main part of the thesis. Three translations were chosen for the comparison. These are the translation by Leoš Suchařípa, which is the most often used translation in Czech theatres, the translation by Robert Ibrahim, which is the newest one, and the translation by Bořivoj Prusík, which was published first. The work of the important Czech translatologist Jiří Levý was used as an expert support for this thesis. The goal of this thesis is to find out, how translators introduce Chekhov's drama to Czech recipients.
The Media Image of Visual Arts in Czech Television
Švarcová, Barbora ; BENDOVÁ, Helena (advisor) ; POSPISZYL, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis consists of a context and textual analysis of Artmix, a TV show dedicated to visual arts, while touching on other relevant programs on Czech TV. The results of these analyses are then brought into theoretical setting primarily using the philosophical and social concept of the Field of Power as defined by Pierre Bourdieu in his book Rules of Art. Principal themes, interspersing throughout the text, are the limits of reflections of visual arts through TV screen and hidden interpretational patterns applied to visual arts through its media image. Furthermore there is an additional issue of traditional notions of an artist existing within our society, weighed down by history, or the quest for the ideal format of a TV show reflecting visual arts.
Movements of reading
Švarcová, Barbora ; Blažíček, Martin (advisor) ; Pospiszyl, Tomáš (referee)
In my bachelor's thesis, on the basis of several case studies I examine the relationship between text and moving images in an artistic context. I am interested in the volatility of the reception of these two mediums and their mutual influence. At the same time I attempt to ascertain the motivation of contemporary artists using the principle of "text within text". Because this pertains to works created in roughly the last ten years, I frame them within the current social discourse. This entails venturing even into non-artistic spheres, were the principle of the doubling of media is also prolific. These forays then serve as points of reference in the analysis of individual works. I am interested not only in the question of the unconventional circumstances of the reading, but by the same measure also the ideological platform of this principle.
